New rumor: M8 in July + prices for 4 and 8 GB

Hi guys!

It has been a while since I did my last post in this forum. I just got some news directly from a wholesale-source in China. As always please be carefull with information like this. I can't proof the quality of this yet but I still want to share it with you.

The source told me that the M8 won't hit retail until July of this year.

It also said that the prices for a 4 GB phone will be around 1600 RMB (224 USD / 151 Euro) and the 8 gig will be priced at approx. 2100 RMB (294 USD / 198 Euro).

I can't tell you if those prices are retail or wholesale - OMG that's really cheap if the specs remain the same.

I'll try to find out some more...

oh that's great! i was hoping for something like that. But then again, I'll hope to see an "offical" release date soon.. not just a speculative one

how long would it take the M8 to be released in Europe after it has been released in China? Perhaps its impossible to answer this but what are your guesses? I was hoping to see it around in September or so.. could that happen with a Chineese release in July?

Oh god I can't wait anymore...

Yes it will. No, you won't be secured by a direct guarantee from MEIZU, however there are a lot of dealers from the US that will most likely offer you a private guarantee on their Chinese imports.

Pretty surprising huh... I need to get some more info first. It's a trusted source however.

I'm more worried 'bout the UI. Will it be in Chinese or English?

Like I said, that would mean that for the price of a Nintendo DS you can buy a 4gig 720x480 wifi touchphone with a high-end Samsung ARM processor in it.

I'm not buying it (figuratively speaking)

No disrespect meant against your source though.

Chinese and English. Jack posted that some time ago I think.

Yeah, I totally share your opinion but we will find out soon I guess. (As I said it could also be the price for b2b wholesale.)

I live right next to the "computer mall" in Beijing, where I guess would be the first place to find the M8.
I'll go and get one on the BIG DAY and tell you guys if it really was worth waiting for this long. :D

great "news" , if it is ...

if that's any close to some truth Jack Wong should *certainly* take the opportunity to announce that at CeBit ; so we are some 10 days from knowing if it's buzz or bizz
