If the M8 doesn't have Wifi...

I have been reading a few posts around here and differnent websites and there are mixed facts and opinions on the Meizu M8 having WiFi.
As nothing is clear until CeBit, I would like to know if something would work.
If the M8 did not have wifi, would you be able to use a Wifi SD card and configure the Windows Mobile OS to run the connection through that?
I would also like to know if this would work for other portable devices such as the P168 or HiPhone (although I know modifications to their Operating Systems would be alot harder.
Im not very experianced in the software side of things, but I see no problem when it comes to a SD wifi card and adapter.
After all, to get wifi in a normal PDA/Smartphone, all it requires is internal hardware and software, right?

Thank You,
Sam.

I'm almost 100% sure that it will have WiFi.

The global version will have WiFi. Something about regulations in China is causing a wifi software-locked device.

It will have Wi-Fi. Otherwise it just won't be able to compete, remember it's supposed to be better than the iPhone (and now it's gotta compete with other iPhone try hards).

Thank you all for replys.
I sure hope that this thing does have WiFi as that is what is stopping me from buying a Hiphone etc.
I will wait until it comes out, but if it is released without WiFi, I ain't going to be very happy.
One other question, will a normal mobile phone (eg. SE Z550i) take a wifi sd card and connect through that?

Thanks.
Sam.

He's talking about the HiPhone, not the iPhone.

It is basiclly a software and minor hardware upgrade of the P168.
It's also referred to as the P169.
Any answers about the SD Wifi?

Cheers.

The Meizu M8 isnt gonna have a SD-slot according to the specsheet, so no, you can't use a WiFi-SD-card in it. If it does have a SD-slot and doenst have wifi (which I highly doubt), than yes, you should be able to use a wifi-SD-card, but the M8 WILL have WiFi and most likely wont have a SD-card so the debate is rather pointless.

Btw, could you please stop using bold all the time, it's annoying

How does the Wi-Fi card work? Does it have its own browser or would you have to use Internet Explorer?

You would have to use a internet explorer like internet explorer, firefox etc.. what it does basically is just enables you to connect to a router, wifi hotspot or w.e. Thats what a Wi-Fi card is supposed to do, just connect and transmit the data.

I've had a Spected WiFi-SD card like that. I had to connect through the card itself, and just edit your connectionsettings where it said "Network adapters". You just use all your apps you normally use for internet/Live messenger/etc, only connect with that card instead of the phone itself. The only main difference is that you cant use your SD-slot for storage and about 5mm sticking out of your phone (at least with the SD-version)
