M8 Release date (speculation!!)

Either that person writing the e-mail is wrongly informed, or their officially getting the biggest-delay-ever-award from me.

That's not called delay any more, that just means that your judgement of a product you manufacture being done is entire bullcrap.

I'm dropping the m8 if it comes out in Q3.

yeah that's true but if an official Meizu e-mail says Q3 the chance of it being sooner are very slim IMO.

Strange, I'm waiting for an entire year but the release-period isn't coming any closer to me :D

Sounds pretty logical though, it took Apple 5 months as well to go from first showdown to release. And even with that the first batches were pretty poor.

So I'd buy the second/revised batch of m8's :P

My current phone is barely working anymore and still I try to keep it until M8 gets on the shelfs. That mail (if written by a legit person) is bad news...

Same situation here... Maybe you should add a question your thread: Will it sell unlocked? Because their CeBIT profile says:
"We cordially welcome valued mobile operators,retail chains and distributors
to visit our booth at CeBIT 2008 for a meeting and discussion about M8."

I hope they still prefer selling it unlocked.

Let's ask another question: Can you give us an exact release date that is not doomed to endure another delay as us fans are seeing no end of the tunnel whatsoever concerning a release period? Some may think that it is obvious that they will tell at CeBIT by themselves, but with the latest Q3-rumors/fears i'm not so sure they would give a clear date to us.

Lol btw, if their say it will come out at Q3 the entire situation will be the same as last year :D
Last year they also gave us Q3 as releaseperiod :P

Perhaps a $20 seimenz from ebay would be a good investment if your phone is really THAT dead.

Slow! And Wong once promised that the units (plural) would be done before the end of last year. Seems they've achieved an engineering sample 2 months overdue in March and a release period that has been postponed "a litte bit" for an entire year. Pfff...

Really? When did Jack Wong say that it would be here by the end of the year? I think I remember him saying that it w\might be here by the end of last year or early 2008. I might be misinformed, but that's what I recall.

Hm...i recall something different though.

Did read it in a quote if i remember right, he did say the units would be ready on december 30th, he said that after the initial delay back when we were at Q2/Q3 2007. Back then we lost the release "period" information but gained that date instead.

Can't prove it now with a link though, would take ages to find it.
