nokia tube has lower resolution, has only 140MB memory, and is probably going to be more expensive than the m8, so for me its not really an alternative to the m8

It's very sweet your enthusiasm for this Nokia TUBE... but what about its price? Nokia isn't precisely cheap...

I consider serious contender those cell-phones/PDA with a cost about US$ 200 like iPhone and HTC Dream despite how bad they are. You know how this is... bargains for the big mass.

nokia tube, haha what a joke. Nokia interfaces look like something from the late 80's. This will get out speced in every department by the M8. M8 will also be cheaper.

The Nokia family of cells are a joke, since I've seen an N95 selling for 1000USD, it's the top of the line model, unlocked, in a physical store. The firmware isn't even that good, plus 8GB is nothing to be bragging about.

Yes, but what can a N95 even do that makes it so great?

Added some nice stories to the topicstart. I'm afraid though that the first half of this topic discusses phones that are not as "new" anymore than those in the second half. That's what you get with a 9 month-old topic :P

Emblaze Edelweiss

Apart from the high-res touchscreen display that should make any gadget freak fall in love with it, Emblaze Edelweiss should also feature:
  • GSM and 3G connectivity
  • Internal GPS
  • 8GB / 16GB of built-in memory

Next Emblaze Monolith

The Storm isn't really too much to worry about, it will have very good functionality, but once you consider how much it costs for an unlocked version, you'll think again.

I still can't find an alternative that would make me say: "Perfect!"
The M8 is the only current cellphone I want. It has the perfect looks, and functionality I'm looking for

^ Agreed.

That Edelweiss looks awesome though. If that were available on eBay for a reasonable price, I would buy it. Unfortunately, any phone with those kinds of specs is not going to be affordable.
