Yes, Meizu will show up at CES. Whether or not they will bring the M8 is a question, but folks on the forum are not very optimistic about this, I'm telling ya... But we can all hope (those who are religious can also pray)

i'd say the chances are slim to none. It does seem strange though that at the biggest tech show in the world Meizu would not attempt to show any new products. It would be the perfect time, they would get the most press coverage.

sere83 is right... M8 at CES was a rumor started by an untrustworthy source.

So, as it stands, there is still no idea as to when we should expect to see even a working prototype?
As much as I want Meizu to do well, I find this delay unnecessary and rather strange. Especially since, theoretically, they have been working on the M8 for several months.

Yeah, it sure is taking time. But let's remember that the M6 took 2 years of development and instantly became an international hit.
The M3 was developed quicker... and wasn't as much a revolution as the M6.

That's probably because the M3 was pretty much the same as the M6. Now that the M6SL is released there isn't really a need for a M3 (same compactness), and the prices aren't that high either.
Admitted, the M8 is a huge step that would take a lot of time to develop. But their strategy of letting the people know about the M8 12 months ago was just wrong. I can't think of a single company that actively shares pictures and data about a upcoming product while letting the same people wait for over a year.
They're not making themself popular with that, and the label of vapourware is something often put to such products. All those pictures, dummies, specsheets mean nothing if there is no release date. The estimations on the forums are clearly not that accurate, I should be holding the M8 in my hand right now if they were.
Remember, the iPhone and M8 announcing were around the same time in jan 07. It came out in June 07 and now at Jan 08 we are still waiting for a M8...
Meizu should have announced the M8 right now! Januari 2008, it would have made absolutely no difference.
Can somebody please bomb the Meizu stand with questions when the CES starts? :D:P

Yeah... bomb the Meizu stand with questions at the CES in Las Vegas or at 3GSM in Barcelona or at the CEBIT in Hannover like last year -
but please:
the video-interview should be better prepared this time...

Although this is true the M6 and M3 were not being hounded by Apple and various other competitors in an attempt to usher forth a new era in the way we view our technology.

Thanks alot for confirmation. It would've been great to see M8 there. Just in need of a phone and this would be a killer mobile to have at this time. N95 is good and all but the best thing about these phones is.... touchscreen... without that mobile sucks.. Hopefully at least they keep us up-to-date instead of keeping us wondering around. I give this mobile 2 months and than i have to buy a new mobile... dont know how long you guys can wait.

I gave 8 months and bought iphone and are perfectly happy with my decision. lets take out some facts wm5 or wm6 apps dont work on m8 all programs will be on chinese language, gurantine dont work- my point is this is china iphone copy (ment only for china). Who here can say m8 is better than iphone (no one)
Some one who has iphone can you say u are waiting this phone to be better and more functional( I dont think so).

iPhone copy? I think you mean LG Prada copy. I'll take the 16GB m8 for 400, Alex.

I found this and it poses some better specs than the m8 if they dont hurry up they will be behind the pack. And if they dont show up at the CES with a m8 they should atleast make the m8 more up to date.
Touch-screen BlackBerry?
One of the most intriguing is word, courtesy of The Boy Genius Report, of a new BlackBerry: the 9000 (or the 9000 series, to be exact), which is rumored to come with a speedy Intel XScale processor, HSDPA access (which would make it the first BlackBerry capable of running on 3.5G GSM networks), Wi-Fi, GPS, a full gigabyte of onboard memory, a 3.2-megapixel camera, and a jumbo 480-by-320-pixel screen. Pretty nice, but here's the hottest morsel about the 9000: It might be the first BlackBerry to chuck the keypad for a full-on touch screen. That said, I'm hearing conflicting reports about whether the 9000 actually ditches the physical keypad, so don't get your hopes up
