Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts+ more space for multimedia goodness (16 GB instead of 8)
+ GPS add-on availiable
+ smaller in dimensions
+ likely to be lighter than iPhone (Al-Mg case instead of stainless steel)
+ SCDMA, not just EDGE"iPhone? Well, due to Meizu prolonging the release of M8 further and further and cutting it's specs more and more, I just found myself buying that over-hyped, over-prized piece of yesterday's technology. In fact, it's pretty cool - even with the half-eaten fruit on it..."

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsPro M8
* better screen resolution, useful in general
* less restrictions with Meizu, more options with WinCE
* cheaper, as it will be sold seperately without contract
Con M8
* rofl, it's a non-existing phone
* no release date to look forward to at all
* no 3G, iPhone 2nd-gen will be released faster at this rate than 1st-gen m8Last edited by DusL; 01-01-2008 at 09:45 PM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsJust bought iphone, enough waiting for this "almost in prototype state" product. Meizu sucks. Apple: China's Red Hot iPhone Black Market
probably they are going to lose china markets also, LOL you can get unlocked iphone now from china for 100$ more than m8 is going to cost. in distant future if they even release it. I personaly suggest u people whom are desperetly waiting for m8 to move on iphone it's the best qulity phone i have ever used. also I got email from my friend from china who went to local mobile stores to ask when its coming out and guess what they told him late 2 quater of 2008. you guys should move on from this project. I was exited for it the first 6 months but enough is enough.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHow fast is the M8's processor going to be? 600Mhz or did i just make that up. How fast is the iPhone's? I know the iTouch is 400Mhz and they are very similar so that could possibly be the speed, but then again a higher speed would possibly mean more electricity so lower battery life (unless they put some effort and money into a good design which uses less power).

One thing that were missing is that both the iPhone and the M8 are really good phones. They each have their own pros and cons. Some side with Meizu either b/c they don't have cingular, they don't know how to unlock the iPhone, or they don't have the money. There are others that side with apple because they either already have the phone, don't want to wait for the M8 release, or they for some unforeseen reason think that apple is the bet out there and that all their ideas are completely original. My point being that both phones are able to suit specific needs. Depending on who you are one phone may be better for you than the other. The amount of pros and cons balance each other out.
But as for me I am simply tired of waiting and I am going to buy the original iPhone off of my friend for 150USD when the iPhone2 is released. (Yeah, the wait is the same but the price cut is HUGE!)Victoria Aut Mors.

Quality? Yeah right. It's Apple, they make the iPod. That is the opposite of quality right there. If the phone stores knew it would come out in Q2, why would we not know? Trust me, we would know. The M8 is unlocked in the first place and has a removable battery. Also, you can't get the iPhone in 16GB, especially for $400. Slow and steady wins the race. Good things come to those who wait.

1. The iPod is just fine, IDK why some people want to burn Steve
2. The phone stores don't know, however his friend was probably giving him the most reasonable estimate I've heard so far.
3. Nobody that I know of really needs a 16GB phone to begin with. Those of us that want this type of phone already have some sort of media player in our possession.
4. Slow and steady does win the race, thats why I'm waiting for the iPhone 2 to come out so that my friend can sell me her 8GB iPhone.Last edited by SoulspeedX; 01-01-2008 at 08:30 PM.

I can definitely understand why someone would go for the iphone over the yet to be released M8, considering how long the wait has been. At the end of the day the iphone is real and is a great product with many great features. However I will not even consider getting an iphone until the M8 is released and if the M8 is well recieved I will probably not bother with the Iphone. At the moment I have a 20gb Sony NW-HD5 for music a Smart Q-T5 for video and a Sony Ericsson telephone. I have always wanted an all in one device to replace them all, and the 16gb M8 is the only thing that will come close in terms of screen size, capacity, functionality and unrestricted OS. In the mean time I am happy to use these three devices, and if another nice media player or phone comes along before the M8 I may even get it If I have the money. (I severly doubt it will be able to match the spec of the M8 though). Also I simply do not really want to use itunes and I don't want to go through the trouble of converting video and unsupported audio files to apple formats. I also want to be able to upgrade my firmware without being chained to an expensive contract and without the hassle of apple continually trying to stop me (e.g if I had an unlocked iphone) and having to rely on the hacking community for firmware upgrades. I am under no dillusions I think the M8 will probably not be released until June (I hope not though), but I am a patient man and as SteveMB93 says......good things come to those who wait. I think also meizu are well aware that the market is moving fast and I am sure they will try and release it as soon as they can as it will affect their profits and the companies future prospects if they don't.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWell i guess that's the big problem. The M8 doesn't exist (yet).
You can't compare a product like the iPhone that exists to a product that doesn't. For all we know the m8 specsheet could be "revised" tomorrow for the better or the worse. For all we know, software stability of the m8 can suck vacuum. There is no release date either, so for now the iPhone clearly wins.Last edited by DusL; 01-02-2008 at 11:30 AM.

Very true
Thank you
Smart man
It's not that bad really. Having the latest firmware on an apple product wont add or remove any functionality/security. So hack it and stick to your guns. Also, Apple will probably stop releasing firmware upgrades upon release of the iPhone 2.
Guys, my goal is to get a nice touch screen phone at low cost. I found my opportunity with the iPhone. I've been patient with Meizu but in the end I simply can't wait any long for a product that I will not be 110% sure will work. Also Apple has a much larger community. So if I have problems to address I could probably solve them by simply asking the person next to me. So as for me I'm gonna go with the iPhone. It's cheaper (In my particular situation) and it will be available to me a lot sooner.Victoria Aut Mors.
