Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsYeah I agreed with you that QWER is the best choice, but the screen of M8 is only 3.3 inch, even smaller than the iPhone's,and it probably can't have the feature of enlarging letter your finger touched-Just like the iPhone's,so it must have larger keys than iPhone's for the smaller screen. Then we can understand that why M8 bring us IOP keyboard.
Personally I think my resign is a little better than the official IOP edition,it‘s more close to QWER keyboard than IOP.Last edited by burnfox; 09-22-2007 at 10:07 AM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsYou could always have two options like the iphone, where you can tilt your phone sideways and the screen will change to landscape mode. Longer screen for QWERTY keyboard.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThe original has 5 letters out place- I,O,P,K & L,my redesign has only 2-N & M,and the two of them are still in the same line next after B.
QWERTYkeyboard was not designed for one-hand input, both original and my redesign are based on it.they still need two hands to input, the less letters change their place, the less time you need to adapt.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWhy not just make it universally usable and use a QWERTY styled keyboard? -_-

Because the letters would be too small and you wouldn't be able to type anything. The screen is smaller than that of the iPhone so the letters need to be bigger to ensure that we can use it easily.
@ iN10Se: I like the number reconfiguration but the letters should be left alone.
Secondly. They should definitely allow us to flip the screen sideways and text. Perhaps that could even reinstate the much loved QWERTY arrangement.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI think I could get used to either keyboard setup, but would miss the familiarity of a QWERTY keyboard. I just realized, is the M8 goin gto have the tilt to landscape functionality of the iPhone?
