A Question About Win CE 6.0
As we already know the m8 will be running Win CE 6.0, the question I have is about web browsing. I read somewhere that internet explorer on windows mobile and win CE devices cannot display web pages fully and relays them in a cut down form, is this correct?

not a big deal tough. You can always use opera for mobiles to sort this problem (if exists)
Internet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWindows CE 6.0 is a new OS for mobile devices. Of cos devices installed with CE6.0(currently there's no device with this OS yet) will hav an integrated web browser. But if dont like the integrated web browser, there are others choices too. Eg: firefox mobile, opera moble....

Hope these clear the thoughts.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThe M8 will be running on Windows CE 6 kernel for M8, but it's operating system won't be Windows CE 6. Cowon Q5 is running on windows CE kernel too, but it's operating system is Cowon's own system. Cowon made 2 user interface for the Q5. One of them is like a normal Windows, the other one is a PMP software. Meizu has the choice, what kind of operating system will use. The pictures about the UI shows an iPhone-like interface, but they can (not will) made an Windows-like interface too. It will decide, what programs (browser, ...) can you use.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI have WM6 on my XDA exec, it isnt WinCE 6.0 but a update to WinCE 5.0 (5.2)
When i am browsing the web on it (internet explorer:P ), the pages look the same as they were on the PC. There are 3 viewing modes: Default, Desktop, and one column. Desktop obviously gives ya a view almost the same as a pc.
Screen res does play a big part in internet viewing and with the xda exec's 640x480 screen res web sites look good. My XDA II mini has the same features and its running WM 2003.
It also depends which site your on. Most sites will display normally, but for sites such as google it is a cut down version. Its a good thing coz you dont want every single graphic to be displayed. I am suspecting these sites detect what browser your using and display different versions of the page.
whitemoo.Media Players: Black Meizu M6 SP 2GB + Sony MDR38Q's, Shure e2c, Audio Technicha CM7
PDA's: XDA II mini, XDA exec (Universal) + WM6
Notebook: 12 inch ibook G4 1.33GHZ 1.5GB Ram

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThe interesting thing about Windows CE is that it has a nearly complete Internet Explorer 6.0 available, instead of the less than 3.0 Mobile IE (Transitions and effects are missing, but that's about it.)
We use IE6 on CE 5.0 at work. Pretty powerful combination.
No idea what Meizu will use, but with IE 6 on 720x480 res, the need for scrolling mostly disappears, although you might still need a magnifier

yeah I read that too, that certainly is great news. Many believe opera to be superior to the iphones safari.
