Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsFew Questions regarding the M8
Hey I'm really interested in getting an M8 when they come out, but i have some questions. I heard they will not be sold in the US, which well i'm sure i can find a website somewhere and order one anyhow, but the specs say it is "GSM", is it quad band gsm? and does it take Sim cards? Any input would be greatly apprieciated as i'm with cingular in the states and dont want that overpriced iphone when the m8 looks to be so much better. Thanks

the spec seems to be unofficial at the moment and still in contention. The implementation of cell phone capabilities in models available outside China is also unconfirmed. The likley hood is however that US Networks are not supported as China uses GSM 900MHz/1800MHz bands which are different from the US which uses 850 MHz and 1900 MHz GSM bands. Have a look at this thread for the latest info:

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsyeah i tried to check that out however the network i'm on blocks 99% of all sites (amazing enough this one gets thru, and engadget.com) but thats about it. really sucks that such a badass product like the m8 wont work over here.
