Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postswow. nice! a bit on the expensive side for the 16GB though... but still, it's very good to have the option!
i wonder if those prices are for the high end one with the phone/camera/etc...

although it seems pricey think about the spec you would be getting if the spec and the pirce quotes are real. The iphone will cost like $1000 without a contract. The nokia n95 costs $1000 is available now and only takes 2gb cards. Fair enough it has a 5mp camera but it can't touch the rest of that spec. All I can say is if that is the real spec, and the battery is decent, I will have to rob some grannies if I don't have the cash. hahaha. Are any chinese speakers about? maybe they can translate some of the later posts in the thread, get a bit more info

yeah my boy got one the other day, so ive had a little play with one, it is without a doubt a nice device but personally I don't like symbian operating systems, find them not that user friendly. Think they should have included sdhc card support too, 2gb is just not enough. While I do like to have a decent camera too if I did get an M8 I would be buying it mainly for it's video and mp3 playback functionality. Also the idea of an 'all in one' media and phone solution. Just pray the batterys decent and you can buy a spare!

yeh , the n95 is let down because it runs off a nokia os , with that in mind , id actually prefer it with the tactile keypad and no toutch screen( not that it has one- it would be nessasary if it ran of windows ce) , i think that is what seperates phone from pda and a phone is always best if its main system is built for phones.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postswhy is it expensive? because meizu (rightly so) understands that people are willing to pay a premium for bragging rights. an extra 8GB of flash memory costs $60. they are charging an extra 1000 RMB, or roughly $130. no big deal. people who want more, will pay more, myself included.

just flicking through the pages, it is some serious 26 page raging debate with various quotes form Mr Wong on there. We need to get some chinese speakers in here to tell us what their rest of the thread says.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsAs much as I like the specs, and I REALLY DO, unless I see it in production then it doesn't mean a lot. After all for the past 3 motnhs we have had no confimration, one way or another, of what the final product will be. And frankly, as much as I like Meizu, I have a feeling that the M8 may end up being vapourware. If Meizu want to capitalise on their popularity, they need to put the phone in production now. Unless, of course, they are thinking of making yet another revision to their drawings so that the M8 "looks less like the iPhone"...

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsjust to clarify, nokia havent built their own operating system for a mobile in years. The same operating system is used in mobile phones by:
- Nokia
- Ericsson
- Panasonic
- Samsung
- Siemens AG
- Sony Ericsson
- Fujitsu
- Mitsubishi
- Sharp
p.s. there is a small possibility I own a nokia phone & feel immasculated by the M8s screen size
