Hello,
At first sorry for my bad Englisch.
I read a lot threads to this topic here but nothing was helpful to me.
I got an used M8SE from ebay and the 16 gb disk is not available.
I cant mount the the unit in usb mass storage mode on Windows7 course of driver error, but I can connect via ActiveSync.
What did I try?
1.) WinHex:
I cant mount the unit as usb mass storage device so I'm not able to access the disk with WinHex
2.) Format the disk with HP Tool or Windows device manager:
No usb mass storage device - no format option
3.) Formt the disk from the 'system' menu:
No error message - no action
4.) Active Sync:
I can access the unit via Active Sync.
There I can see 2 folders:
- device: contains the windows ce stuff
- chinese signs: empty, formated as fat32, 0 bytes ( is this 'Disk'?)
4.) Update firmware:
I created via ActiveSync a folder 'Disk' on filesystem root. The unit now thinks it would have 'Disk': ok.
Then I copied an older firmware iso (there is not much space so I had to try an older one with less filesize). I started the unit in 'update mode' but this gave me an error message that it couldnt find the file, because its not on 'Disk'...
5.) Android:
The unit got an bootloader installed, where I can also choose Android. Android doesnt start missing a file, wich is probally expected on 'Disk'.
Maybe the missing disk is caused by a broken Android installation?
Is there a way to remove completly Android with the bootloader from the unit?
At this point I have to capitulate, I already contacted the service for sending the unit for repair to China.
But if anyone got another idea that I could try please let me know
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you and best regards
Christoph

Are you sure you have used this guide? It fixed mine some months ago. If this doesn't work, please send it to Meizu for repair.Current Phone: HTC Desire HD

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHello HondaRacer,
thank you for your quick reply.
I tried the instructions carefully some days ago and I did it again now.
Windows7 cant load the driver for the unit correctly (see screenshot, sorry in German).
So I will have to send it Meizu...
Thank you and best regards

Thanked 7 Times in 6 PostsSometimes it happens to me, but with some old mp3 players or cards when I formatted them with bad method like NTFS or 32 FAT, ex. I had to use 32 FAT method but I used NTFS and my disk was gone. I would request money from seller on your side, because if you receive M8 in this status he deceived you. I would give him negative feedback and contact ebay too, from reasson that he knew it. But if you bought M8 and you known about it there is a question that why he would sell his M8 if he could fix that problem???
