Tweaking firmware to use M8 without touchscreen- is it possible?

M8 was really great phone, until touch was gone after 3 months of using. It's been one and half year since I use it last time. Last week I thinked it's really a shame to not use it so much time, but I've been reading so much bad things about M8 screens and I'm afraid that even if I buy new digitizer it will broke again.

I have 2 ideas to solve this. First is to make meizu use without touchscreen (using a bluetooth keyboard for example) install some GPS app on it, and use as navi in my scooter :D (or car)

Second of course is to fix the touchscreen and use device as movie & music player, but for now there's no way i'll send it to china for repairs, because I don't know how much it will be cost - sending to china, warehousing, sending back to me etc. That's probably will cost more than it's worth. Now, if that's possible I would like to fix it by my own, but people in the "How to replace the touchscreen!" topic saying that replaced digitizers are going to fail again. So, if anyone know which digitizer is this final model without factory defects (the model you get after sending your device to china for repair, I read somewhere there's 4 models). And if someone who send his phone for repair to china and get it back, please tell me how much you pay for it in total.

Btw, using a TS phone without TS wont be easy i think
