Any News about sync calendar & contacts

Since i've bought my M8 over the years it stays in it's box unused because never could find a way to sync it's calendar and contacts, neither with outlook, thunderbird, funambol, google nor with something else. I would like to use this phone, so i come every half year to check the forums in the hope that there is found a way to sync this phone. The best thing would be a funambol sync, but this wish might sound to fantastic. Is there a way to sync in any way? Are there any news? Thank you very much.

I have an idea... Get android phone like HTC any new model, sync all contacts and make a backup, which can be red by Windows ce ( meizu OS ) also haven't tried this thing, but maybe it would work. Only used this to move contacts from Meizu OS to android.

No there isn't. There is no decent sync function on the m8. Your M8 will never become useful.

He wants to sync both the calendar and the contacts. I have yet to see a program that can properly sync one of these items, let alone both.

The suggested solutions found in the forum don't work for me because I run on Outlook 2010 64bit and none of the current programs can sync with it.

The Google sync solution might work for you if you have 32 bit and I've tried it in the past. Sadly, calender sync doesn't include the location of appointments making it not very useful.

I've given up on getting these items to sync on my M8. My SE715 dumb phone does a better job of syncing both contacts and calendar with a lot less hassle. If only the screen was bigger and it had a bigger keyboard.

    Useless aftersales support

Hi all I have become tired of trying to get this phone to work as advertised on my own, so I emailed Ramon at Meizu Marketing. This is Meizu's reply which basically translates to "F@#CK YOU" in my book. To say that I'm not impressed is an understatement.

    Meizu's reply to my email:

    Dear Sir,

Thanks for your email and attention.

However, the M8 has been phased out from last year. Currently we don't have any plan for updates on M8 project.

Pls be subject to the information at our homepage.

    Best regards,
    Ella

    Hello,

I have been a loyal customer who has supported your company by purchasing an M8 phone when they first came out.

Unfortunately it looks like Meizu has ignored and dumped all M8 customers.

The phone is bordering on useless without support for synchronising the Calendar and Contacts. It really is only functional as an MP3 player.

Are you planning on releasing a fully functional firmware for the M8?

    Regards

I must say, Mrs. Ella Wong answered very politely on your rather insulting mail. She just says Meizu isn't planning to do updates on the M8 project. Ella also helped me to get my bricked M8 to China and back home.

Honestly, what kind of answer have you been hoping for? Just because it can't sync calendar and contacts (they never said it would) doesn't make it "just an mp3 player" in my book.

lol.... Just because it is not working with Your google account does not mean that M8 is useless you retard... You should have made a good research about phone before buying it, it is only YOUR FAULT that it doesn't meet your requirements.

Sorry but you wouldnt buy an iPhone just to expect Apple to finally release a firm/software update that would after all allow bluetooth data exchange eh?
I hope you get what I mean.

    If not:
Not all phones can sync with all pcmailprograms and so the M8 was probably not supposed to be able to do that when it was released back in 2008.

Get a grip "Fanboys", I did extensive research before purchasing the M8. The original UI firmware did in fact support syncing of contacts and calendar with Microsoft Outlook. It was purchased as a smart phone for business use with that feature set as a necessity. Subsequent firmware updates were supposed to improve the device not rob it of usability. My old 2001 model Siemens ME45 could sync both without a problem to my PC.

He's referring to syncing via active sync, or sync center. Both are bundled with the M8 since it's very first release and there's even a menu setting within the phone to specifically make use if the device if you look in the settings, USB mode, Active Sync.

If you don't know what this program does, it is suppose to sync your emails, calendars, tasks, files, and contacts with your computer.

I was fairly certain that this was one of the features advertised but the Chinese portion of their website has taken down all their m8 info page and it is, conveniently, no where to be seen.

There should be no excuse for having to use unreasonable workarounds to get things to sync (Eg: Using third party applications not originally bundled with the M8) if it was meant to work properly with all its bundled tools in the first place.

I've read the email that magnumnr sent out to Meizu and I do not find it insulting. What he stated is at least partly true. His interpretation of the reply email is also correct, although a bit exaggerated. They are no longer supporting the m8, so any problems with it (the ability to sync) will not be fixed. He is well within his right to express his displeasure of the reply email, as it is your right to badger him for not doing the research and refute his opinion.

Most of us that want this feature are not retarded and have done our research. This feature is built into the phone. Just because half of the people here don't use the sync feature and have no experience with it doesn't mean it shouldn't work. Yet, all I see when we criticize or, in some cases, rant about features, the typical reply I get is, "You should have done the research.", "You should have known this phone is not supported outside of China." etc... To blame the end user on the shortcomings of a built in feature is not right and is almost fanboy behavior.

magnumnr, I've asked that question a long time ago. The short answer is no, can't sync properly. Just gotta live with it... And I agree, our dumb phones can actually do it properly. Logicially, a phone with more power should be able to do that and more right? Well that isn't true with the M8. If you lower your expectation of it and think of it like a feature phone,(i see you have done that already) it will prob justify the shortcomings you have with it.

By the way, if You would gave enough time for research You would have found that Outlook sync was working on M8. Just with old firmware, later they had kinda problems with new UI...And engineers just didn't had enough time to repair this...
Which firmware supports (1) Outlook sync (2) WiFi with WPA2

Or this App created by order of a meizu, to handle new UI
    M8 PC SUITE
You are too lazy to do a small research... But have enough time to write impolite letters to Meizu and keep spamming forum with Your regrets of getting M8...

And stop swearing in forum, it is forbidden. Read rules.

    Dear vytautas g,
Stop being a child, as I said it did work with the original firmware (and other features didn't). With the new firmware it doesn't work. "later they had kinda problems with new UI...And engineers just didn't had enough time to repair this... ". SO PROGRESS HAS GONE BACKWARDS. Stop apologizing for Meizu's slackness. You expect me to download a Chinese application and stuff around trying to get it going or translated into English. Sorry but I have better things to do with my time. In a previous post you mustered all your maturity and called me a retard. I'm afraid you must be the retarded one if all you want to do is play with your phone in an effort to get it fully functional.
Get a job or get a girlfriend (or both) and let Meizu fight their own battles (483 posts!, you need a life).
    That is all.

PS: Thanks for your support "unibomber51", someone who can see the wood for the trees.
