    Farewell, Meizu!

    Hi folks,
the board is getting more and more unused - my Meizu phone, too.

I'm really tired of waiting for any language support, more battery capacity, and android implementation. In the meantime every considerable manufacturer of smart phones produces better and cheaper phones in this discount and mid-range price segment. That's why I switched to an other brand - a quantum leap: Android, GPS, radio, social network and youtube support, and tons of useful applications for 170 Euro (= 225 USD = 1.752 HKD = 1.503 CNY).

Phone market is not for night watchmen. Customers won't buy blank promises and react on delaying tactics by changing the store.

Please, don't get mad at me. But I must say the specs of that phone are worser than the M8.

lol I agree. I mean, the way he wrote about it made me think he got something a lot better. But seriously, even the screen resolution on that phone is inferior to the M8's. I definitely wouldn't call it a "quantom leap".

@Shneedle Woods: If you want radio, social networks and YouTube, then I hope you enjoy your new phone. On the other hand, don't make generalizations on what people want. I, for example, got the M8 because I wanted a good smartphone with a good clean UI, good multimedia capabilities and impressive audio quality; that's it. And I couldn't care less for social networking. In addition, believe it or not, Wong has kept his promises on the M9. The test units were out in October and he always said it would be on sale at the end of the year in December.

Sure, it's not at me to decide whether a phone meets your special requirements - market itself does it for all customers, statistically. According to the demands of potential buyers, companies are developping a great variety of phones. So Meizu always will claim a piece of the entire cake but they must be aware not to miss the fast-paced deployment of common standards.

M9 certainly will not be out for Santa this year. Otherwise I'll eat my hat and publish this at Youtube - there is only a slight probability you could watch the clip on your new M9.

Seriously, I also implemented Youtube in my HR Android ROMs. Why shouldn't it be possible on the M9?

Saw the video where he tries to make his Android OS react on the efforts of his finger on the display. Doesn't convince me, sorry, with all due respect to the modders skills and competences. As you know it is not complete, buggy, and by no means ready to be released.

So I see us both highly satisfied with our phones -what more could you want?

It's not that we can force you to use M8, but what we CAN do is to convince you that sometimes you can be unlucky and get a phone with problems. Also as it has been said, it was MEIZU's first mobile-phone, and I would say that for an first-timer it's VERY GOOD, just see the other brands, like Nokia or Sony(-Ericsson), they've been into this for many years. And don't expect MEIZU to be just like them in their first try/attempt to make an mobile-phone. Wait for M9, you won't be mistaken :D

That phone you bought, Shneedle Woods, is the worst android phone on the market right now. I really hope it does reach your requirements... I mean, 2 MP camera is not very good, and a 320x240 resolution is a pity, because you can not run every app on the market, since that resolution is not a standard resolution for android...

lol...what kinda game do you want to start now? Who has the best resolution, more apps or biggest dick?

My only intentions were to point out the obvious difficulties of Meizu to place a competitive touchphone with a competitive firmware and that I am no longer willing to act as a beta tester for a wannabe phone supplier.

So what? My phone covers my demands and your phone yours - so we all are happy

That is something, i guess, the only true Meizu fans/freaks know of...

And Shneedle Woods, I don't want to attack you in any way, as I said, I hope it will reach your requirements. But a LG optimus GT540 is a better phone for about the same price. Tough the touchscreen is resistive, scrolling has proven to be pretty good on the optimus GT540.

Anyways, good luck with your Samsung. I guess this is good bye then.....

My phone was £99 and kinda ruins the M8.

ZTE Blade / Orange San Francisco

    800x4800 3.5 AMOLED
    Qualcomm MSM7227
    512 Ram
    Android 2.1
    HSDPA 7.2 MBPS

However in Meizus' defence at the time of the M8's release and for a long time after you could not get a phone like mine with such a good spec for such a low price.

I have heared about that phone.
I think that is the android phone with the best quality/price compared to the other android phones.
So you just payed €120 for that phone?
I hope these things go on sale here, in the Netherlands.
It is the perfect phone for android beginners.
Hmm, can you buy one there in england, and send one to me? (I am not kidding...)
That would be a great phone for my dad
I think the samsung is about the same price, unfortunately, you get very, very less quality for your money.

Indeed. As you see above, other companies such as ZTE are more successful and on the ball. ZTE Blade will be available in Germany within the next few weeks (credible announcement) and even Froyo update will be available soon (credible announcement, too).

    Merry Cristmas!

    @lvl,
in germany it´s called Base Lutea, but the word on the street says it is only with a 2 year contract from e-plus.
But it looks better then it´s English brother & has a better cam aboard:-)
If they would sell it with pay-as-you-go I´ll jump in my car to buy my girlfriend an Xmas present:P

    @Shneedle Woods, merry Cristmas 4 u 2.
I wish you the best with your new phone.
