Upgrade mode dead?
Hi,
This morning, I tried to upgrade my firmware even my touchscreen was half dead, but i had a problem, i can't touch both button 'Upgrade' and 'Restart', so i decide to give up, and i unplug the battery to close the phone (big mistake?
).
After this, i start the phone, it works good, and i decide to go to meizu office (im in China, chongqing), to change my broken touchscreen.
They did it fast and everything was nice, so i tried to upgrade the firmware again, but now, i can't access to the upgrade mode.
If someone can tell me if i can do something to make it work, or if i dont have choice and must send it to meizu...
Thanks you by advance for your help.
Vid of the problem:

How long you are pushing the Power.Button and the Vol Button? You leave the buttons when the Upgrade-message comes? On the video there looks you pushing the buttons always!?Last edited by forty7eleven; 07-11-2010 at 05:08 PM.

I dont think they can help me about it, in fact its not a meizu shop, but a company working for meizu, just about fixing broken hardwares... etc. Whatever I will ask them next time i go there (its far from my house, so i dont know what time i can go there again).
Anyway, if someone know a solution to fix this problem, he is welcome to help me (us? maybe im the only one
)

When you are living in China and your phone has warranty I think there gives no problem with replacement in Meizu-Store..

Thanked 481 Times in 147 PostsYes, it is... Any idea they didn't put the Serial-Cable capability on the SE? How hard is it to build a JTAG for M8SE?

It´s a wild guess but the 4 pins missing in the schematic from Banxian provide a serial out. Or from the baseband or the regular one.
Thing you might want to do is test it with a voltmeter whilest hooked up on the charger, to make sure if it is a serial out or just some useless pinout.
somewhere in the serial-out topic i mentionend the needed readings to declare it a serial out. (quick resume you´d should have at least 1 "0" & 1 "+-3.3" volt pinout)
Once you know this you´d be able to proceed further with the possible serial out.
On the Jtag, untill now nobody really made succesfull use of the jtag except Bill, but we don´t hear him anymore.
Personally i would not build a jtag tool but just buy it (price starting at 30€) Hook it on and use the provided tools to get some readings...
edit, maybe it is easier for you to search someone who has a jtag & experience in this??Last edited by evow04; 07-12-2010 at 07:07 PM.
