Hey, I have an M8, and I've had shitloads of trouble with it, but yesterday it went totally crazy.
When I press the M button, it changes between sound off, and sound on. Constantly the volume thingy comes up and is impossible to get down so I can't use the phone. When I open for example the clock, the M button doesn't work to get it down, so I have to restart the phone to read messages, watch pictures and stuff. So I have to restart my phone between every thing I want to do on it.
And the music doesn't work, so I can't listen to music with out without headset.
And the clock is always 10 minutes wrong anyway how I set the clock.
I've updated my firmware, all of the trouble is still there.
The problem: I have lost my receit, so it's impossible to get it replaced?
I don't know if I want to buy another Meizu since I had so much problems, but it was a great phone when it worked. It has been kinda a turn-off on Meizu, but maybe I was just unlucky with my phone, maybe I should give the M8 SE a shot and keep the receit incase something happends to it.

Thanked 200 Times in 145 Postsyou dont have to whine to us,
we are just a community of fans and owners.
Try to contact the trader you bought the M8 from he might have records.
If that fails try to contact Meizu and be nice because you do know that the M8 was not suposed to be sold out of the country.
You wil lprobably have to pay shippng fees to back from china and also the repair costs since you have no documentation when you bought it
(asking about the SE of the phone i assume you have a FE and your warany period was over anyway)Meizu M8 SE - FW 0.9.9.18 (dao89 n450) Dualboot LBE A11 Android 2.2

It seems to me that your volume-up button is stuck. Maybe some gentle force can help to free it up ?

Thanked 50 Times in 30 PostsShould'n't we make a kind of sticky on this topic? It seems to me that almost every week a couple of users want to contact Meizu for sending their M8 back, so maybe a sticky would be useful.

I would suggest to add the point what to do when you are living not in China and have warranty issues to the FAQ
short steps to take:
-contact your retailer (shop where you bought it)
-or contact Meizu
-send in your phone without any accessories but with the warranty papers. If you haven't any ask retailer or Meizu what to do. Maybe you get a free repair, or you pay for it.
-put a failure description into the package and your address
-use a trackable registred shipping method (should be about 20USD or 12EURO)
-stay in contact with retailer or meizu whole time
-wait 3 months till you hopefully get back your phoneMX-HK, M9, M8, M6SL

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThanks alot for the help guys, but yesterday, disaster occured.
Falling over with my phone in the hand, reflexes made me take my hands to protect me from crushing my face = Meizu glass everywhere.
The screen still works, just that the glass is broken so glass fall everywhere and I cut myself on it when I use it. Also the metal is bendt, and where the speaker is, a piece of plastic is missing.
It works as good as before it was smashed in the ground, but then it didn't really work before. I can't even call with it.
Well, I don't blaim Meizu, probably bad luck with my phone, and it's Meizus first phone, so I want to support them so they can keep on making fantastic phones :D
No more chance of getting a free repair or replacement from Meizu.
Well well, I should have kept the warrantypapers and stuff.
I'll probably get an Meizu M8 SE and try it out :D Or is it true that the M9 comes 18. August? I'm going to China 5-21th of July, so I want to know if I should buy the M8SE or the M9 :P
Thanks for the help guys!

Thanked 200 Times in 145 PostsOh, no! i hope you are OK!
Could you post some pictures?
also you might still get something if you sell it as 'defect' with pictures on ebay since the spareparts are not that easy to get.Meizu M8 SE - FW 0.9.9.18 (dao89 n450) Dualboot LBE A11 Android 2.2

I will get pictures now, I go in a mediaschool, so a camera wont be so hard to get hold of.
Oh, I will put it up on Ebay! How much should I take?
I just used a video-camera. Prepare for horrible pictures. You will cry, go get a towel, now!Last edited by Jonazzaz; 05-21-2010 at 07:25 AM.

But yeah, it's horrible. I'll try to pick away some of the glass.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI have upgraded the firmware about a thousand times.
You mean it's not possible to get a phone like this by falling? My entire bodyweight @ 64 kilos landed on the phone, the phone was in my hand, beeing crushed down to the asfalt as I shoved my hands into the ground to prevent my face from going to the asfalt.
It's so typical. But it would have been alot worse to smash it like this by falling if it was working perfect.

Thanked 200 Times in 145 Postsuhm..
you could try to apply a screenprotector foil to prevent the splinters from getting in your fingers.
but that will not fix the phone fr real :P
I think it is amazing that the M8 still works o.O
it looks like it has booked into the GSM net, you say you can use the touchscreen
and the display has only a small crack and still works!
Maybe selling it directly as spare parts would be better.
(the antenna unit, the buttons, back-cover, camera cover?.. what else is detachable from the main board?
honestly i have no idea what you could get for i but i am shure that some parts will find a buyer.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI used a needle to pick away all the loose glass, so I'm not getting glass in my fingers anymore.
Yeah, the phone is just like before! I'm amazed it survived, the skeleton of the phone is bendt, the metal, but still, the phone works! Amazing. Yeah, I forgot to mention, as I landed, the phone slid into a water-pit because of my hand movement.
So, this phone survived 64 kilo with alot more force as I was falling, then getting into the water, but still it's excactly the same as before it got crushed and landed in the water!
So the screen isn't the biggest problem infact :P
I'll not give up on Meizu tho! I will get myself anotherone this summer :D

it these pictures do not prove that Meizu products are well crafted and have solid components, then nothing will ! Dude, it is almost totally crushed and still running !
