E-mail Auto Refresh - More than one account?

I have three e-mail accounts on my M8 and would like to Auto Refresh all the accounts,

Is there a tweak that can be done anywhere to achieve this, or is auto refresh/checking of the default account only available?

I know its only the press of a button to check the other accounts, but if there is a way then why not use it

Yes, my e-mails auto-update, just go into settings and set auto-refresh to the time you want.

I've never had any issues with auto-update?

yes, I did exactly that (15 minutes), sent me a new email and waited forever. I assume, you have to let the email app open and running ? Anything else you have to do ? Please step by step explanation ...
    checking manually works ok, btw.

I just set it up and above and it auto checks my default account (every hour), i don't need to have Email open?

I have to manually check my other accounts that aren't the default.

I am on the latest firmware, what are you running?

    I have 0.9.6.29 (russian custom)
So, you close your email app, and then what happens exactly when you get a new mail ? Do you see any icon in the system bar ? Does your email app continue running in the background ? Can you see it in the "task manager" ?

ok, I finally was able to auto-refresh for the first time ! I think the trick was to disable the auto-lock feature of the phone. I am now manually locking the phone and wait for the next refresh, but I have a feeling that it won't work then.
This leads to more questions :
    1) does email-auto-refresh run with auto-lock or a locked phone at all ? It wouldn't make much sense because a non-locked phone will drain the battery very fast.
    2) is there any other way than disabling gprs if I want the auto-refresh to only work in wifi mode ?

No email doesn't run in back ground and is not in task manager, when i get an e-mail i get the notification sound, but unfortunatly no icon. So if i don't hear the sound, i don't know there is an e-mail there until i look next time.

I tried and tried, but the only way to make it working is to don't lock the phone. That is pretty much worthless because if the screen is still on, the battery is drained in less than a day. I don't understand the developers of this feature ...
Also, while the phone is not locked, you cannot put it into your pocket safely.
    Damn...
