Thanked 31 Times in 18 PostsTry turning your phone off, remove the sim and battery. Next, with the battery and sim removed press the power button a few times.
Also, while out check you sim connections on back of the phone. If none of the gold connections broken or bent put the sim back in.
Turn phone on go to connections and select your provider and see if you can make a call.

there is no solution, now, like me you are a lucky owner of a pocket pc, with no phone capability. I also sent the m8 to china , they sent me back another m8 (I spent around 100 euro betwen postal fee and taxes) in 2 mounths... same problem.
Sorry, if someone ever find a solution I always check the forum to have back my phone

Thanked 17 Times in 12 Poststhis fault is strange as one moment the phone was fine and then the phone switched itself off and came back on with the " no service " problem. i dont think its a hardware issue as i checked the sim lock and could put the lock on and for use with old phone.

Thanked 200 Times in 145 PostsWow, this thread has gone offtopic ...
I dont think Android would fix the 'No Service' problem, else a registry reset and a fresh installed firmware should fix the problem too.
And i would wellcome android very much because of the open (international) structure and the many apps in different languages.Meizu M8 SE - FW 0.9.9.18 (dao89 n450) Dualboot LBE A11 Android 2.2

Thanked 200 Times in 145 Postsonce there was a bios update, so yes, it can be updated.
(it was for a problem that 1st edition M8's had with newer firmware if i remember correct...)
//EDIT: Ah yes, found it in my archives and uploaded it for you
M8_BIOS_090115.rar
Please be aware that i never used this since it is very old and for FE phones...
there are some instructions included in chinese, please translate and read them before you try to use it...Last edited by Loonix; 04-11-2010 at 01:19 PM.

Thanked 31 Times in 18 PostsHey lewis, did you put any passwords on the sim or put a password on the phone itself. I have not used a password on this phone because it's so unpredictable.
I wonder if there is some sort of password lockout. If you start the phone fresh try not to use any passwords.
Also did you change any settings within control panel, registry, etc. It could be that even if the changes are made they may take some time to cause the phone to lockup. So the phone may be fine for a while then lock.Last edited by Timsomor; 04-12-2010 at 12:05 AM.

Thanked 17 Times in 12 Postsi have never had passwords on the sim or phone. phone was fine until one morning i woke up and the phone had switched itself off. i switched back on and no service.
i have gone into windows ce and had a look for any problems in there but nothing.
the m8 will not read contacts off sim but will let me put a pin lock on the sim that works as i have tried the sim in other phone.
i dont think its a hardware issue but a software issue, typical meizu bug . great hardware but unstable software that lets the phone down
