Thanked 3 Times in 3 PostsLewis, it's definitely a hardware issue... By the way Iphone 3g have the same symptoms but since they are available anywhere that's a different story.
My M8 has the same problem, no Sim/no service. I bought it in May last year and it worked until September, then the problem appeared + other ones a bit later(multiple reboots before reaching the home screen, poor battery life...) I had another phone, so a just put the M8 in its box, waiting to see if there was a new way to fix it, and it never happened.
I finally decided to send it to meizu last week.
I am waiting now, hoping that it will come back!
It's quite expensive to send it, just in case. You will have to send if you want it fixed. If not, then you should move on, as you said, because there is no other way...

Too bad, if you don't want to send it back you could always try sell it in the marketplace here.

Thanked 19 Times in 11 PostsLewis The problem of no service of your M8 is wellknow to Meizu.
that why they release the SE.
Because its hardware problem, it happen a lot for the first generation of M8.
Meizu allow you to send a new M8 SE if you send to them 20 euro more

You aren't covered by warranty, but can probably repair the device at a cost.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

i had this problem a couple of days after getting my new m8 re, phone worked fine had been using it in my home on the uk vodafone network when all of a sudden after a firmware upgrade my phone began to display no serice..... does your phone register the sim cars stk apps? if so try using another network in your phone..... i wanted to test if my m8 was able to read the sim card properly and tried a operator i had never been with before and low an behold i began getting full signal.....im not saying this is the case with every no service but maybe the update has caused the phones ariel to loose sensitivity? after all the change log mentions them changing power settings...but hey im no expert just thought i wopuld see if you had contemplated this....

Thanked 3 Times in 3 PostsI sent mine for it had the same problem, I received it today and everything works. They changed the gsm memory (no sim and/or no service problems) and the touch screen (it didn't work anymore) free of charge, but post services are expensive... I paid like 100$.

oh man first the hardware problem with the touchscreen, now with the GSM signal. I'm getting more and more pisse off by meizu.
I sent mine to meizu because of touchscreen issues and got back a replacement M8FE (no M8RE). I hope everything is right from now on until a nice phone of HTC or Meizu is coming out. The HTC legend is nice, but has to little resolution and dsiplay size. The desire has great specs but looks shitty. So hope there will come phones which meet my wishes exactly.
any possibilty to see what kind of GSM module I have? Maybe with M8sprite...MX-HK, M9, M8, M6SL
