Got M8 to finally send a MMS (Tmobile US)

I finally got my phone to send a MMS Picture. However, I still can not receive. I have been experimenting with the MMS setting all day and found if you change the setting in the registry from:

    http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms

    to

    www.216.155.174.84/servlets/MMS

use M8sprite to get to HKLM\SOFTWARE\MEIZU\SMS

let me know your findings, remember you should only be able to send. But who knows....

Keep all tmobile setting the same as usually in the phone screen. make changes in registry area:

    HKCU\ControlPanel\Setting\EDGE

    AND

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\MEIZU\SMS

    -----------------------------------

Make sure ApName says: tmobile not t-mobile

Make sure GPRSConnect says: tmobile not t-mobile

    ---------------------------------------

Most important thing I found out today is that this firmware (0.9.6.12 V2 and Previous version does not like many of the old settings from the old UI.

The most I was able to get it to port was my contacts, that's it...! It does not remember calendar, previous sms, some of your dictionary, and a few other things. I would not even try to restore with the edge backup tool. Since this is a new UI input as much of your needed stuff in manually and you should be good. Oh, also in all previous updates I have been able to just cover my note pad entries. This time I have not been sucessful. I had to pick the most important and manually type them back in. As I mentioned in the main post. Most of the update are not backward compatible. I hope they don't drop the regular M8 and just start the M9 stuff we will be F.U.B.R'ed.

Make sure you change your ProxyIP and Port to these settings.
Use M8sprite to make changes and be careful when dealing with the registry. Also I found that all this stuff is case
sensitive so make sure you have 216.155.165.050 and not 216.155.165.50 make these changes all at once. In both the registry and the phone menu's.

Again, this stuff is case sensitive, so make sure you have tmobile and not t-mobile. Make changes all over phone.

Here is another place where you want .050 and 8080 not 80 and
.50. Do this in all setting of the phone.

I know this will work as it has been confirmed by another tmobile user in
the states as well. Plus I have been having fun send funny Pictures to people and that are responding. Plus I have a PrePaid Phone, I always have.....Saves Money.

Another thing that will help is to make sure that you only port your contacts
to the phone. Besides, most of it will not show up anyway. Do not use edgebackup to restore your GPRS settings do all this manually since this is a new Firmware and Backward compatibility is not a big deal to Meizu when releasing new Firmware Updates. Some stuff will work but you will have Problems, so start fresh!!

    Also, Disable (Delivery Report)!!!!!!!!!

I would also Like to send a Shot Out to RORI for making a brother think!!!
Thanks Dude for your research in the beginning.

ive tried the same exact MMS and Internet settings i was using on FW 0.9.3.9 and it does NOT work with FW 0.9.6.9..

Ive tired 15 different times, and even changed each setting 1 by 1..

    Outcome:
    MMS does NOT work
Internet ( without WIFI ) does NOT work..

I really just cant understand why though, why create such an excellant phone that always has bugs, and cant work in EVERY country !!

@crimson05 @jerrytsitas well guys finding this out was an accident. I just started thinking out of the box and since I had a phone that was in many cases "Out of the box" I just looked at how the meizu sets itself up when you apply an Update/firmware. Just look at how the meizu looks in the registry and look at the settings your phone company has for setting up Your mms settings. First off in the phone under server settings notice the chinese company starts with www. No one told me I just have been thinking out of the box.

As a matter of fact post your setting for your carrier her I want to look at them....If you want.....Or PM them to me..

What other changes do you make to your phone when you install a new firmware?

I can send sms:text messages but I could never send a MMs: picture message until now. Let me know you settings I know you said your on tmobile Usa but you have to have something different a plan, something...

Wow, we all have something different. @gato58 this is very interesting. I read online not to use both epc.tmobile.com and wap.voicestream.com on your phone at the same time but you have them and they work. This is what I mean by thinking out of the box. We both have different setting, but we receive the same outcome. I wonder how your phone is working using 80 instead of 8080. I guess we will never know. I will try this once we get a new firmware. Now @jerrytsitas try www.pxtsend.vodafone.net.au/pxtsend in your serveraddress. in the reg. and see what happens power off the phone and just try to send a mms.

Use this to send your self a sms to make sure that still works:

@Timsomor, i'v checked those reg keys, but it seems my phone doesn't use them at all(looks like the chinese provider settings), cuz those are totally different from seen by the setting app. that is strange.

i setup my edge & mms by a normal way and they all work for me, my provider is new zealand 2 degree

@jerrytsitas, Yes, i live in NZ.

    here are some screenshots.
    1. gprs. i create two entries. one for gprs web connection, one for mms messages

    2. details about my WAP settings( you can name it whatever you like in the Name section)

    3. details about my MMS settings( name whatever you like for it)

PS: my provider is NZ 2degree which uses some of the Vodafone's network. my wife has a vodafone sim card and i set it up for her LG phone without problem.

PS2: for the "Proxy Server" section, i never put 0 before any other numbers. (like 118.148.1.118, i just input 118.148.1.118, not 118.148.001.118)

Thanks for the info, what information did you write under Registery Editor settings on your meizu m8 ???

I just cannot get MMS, WAP working on this new UI.. i have contacted Vodafone and they cant help.. ive searched this whole forum and the settings used on previous FW just simply dont work with this new UI..
Meizu cant help either as its only a mobile phone made for CHINA which is a load of crap..

Im really at wits end with this phone..
