Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsPlease help: "No SIM" and "No service" error
I extensively researched this forum for the "No SIM" error, but I haven't been able to find any viable solution so I post a message for help here. Has anyone managed to overcome this problem and find a solution?
Here is what I did without any success:
1. Restarted many times;
2. Cleaned the SIM and the SIM holder;
3. Tried 3 different SIM card on my Meizu. They all work on my other phone;
4. Cleaned the registry;
5. Installed about 7 different firmwares - from 0.9.0.5 to the latest one;
6. When I am using FW with old UI it says "No SIM". With the new UI it says "No service".
7. Prior to this message phone was working normally. I haven't dropped it, I haven't opened it, I haven't installed anything.
It seems like I can't do anything and I have a 2000 CNY mp3 player now... But I would appreciate any help and willing to try everything to bring it back to life(even voodoo :-)
Thanks a lot!

Thanked 19 Times in 11 PostsI'm sorry my friend but the phone signal or the holder sim is dead.
I guess you have the first generation of M8? right?
You have to send it back to meizu for an exchange.
That all you can do

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI don't know which generation is. I bought it during a business trip in Shenzhen in beginning of June-2009. It cost me about 2,000 CNY for the 8 GB version. In the back it is mostly Chinese but CMII ID:2008CP4477.
Briefly - could you please tell me how to return it? I live in Europe. Is it worth it - after I pay postage and VAT...
Thanks for the support!

Thanked 19 Times in 11 PostsOk i will tell you what to do.
So since you buy the phone in china, there is no problem for return to Meizu.
You are in Europe, so the first advice that you need to do is to contact Meizu and tell them about your problem. Tell them your Imei and serial number of your Meizu . And they will say to you to send the phone and the sticker where you can find Imei and serial number. Send all this to Meizu.
1 ) When you send your Phone from Europe to China, i advice you to have an assurance because many M8 was lost during the send to europe from china.
After Meizu get your Phone they will check your device.
If the phone have a defect touchscreen they will exchange a new one for you!
If not, if the only problem is the signal or sim holder, they will ask you if you want them to repare your device for free or exchange with a new one by give them 200 Kuai so 20 euro.
And remember you have to pay for send back to your country.
About VAT you have to contact Meizu when they send you back the device, to write " Phone repaired" .
that all you have to do my friend.
Any question? i'm here .

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsNo I am not sending it by post. It is ridiculously expensive... If I finds some colleague going to Shenzhen - I will ask him to do me a favor and bring it himself. Anyone knows if the warranty is one or two years?
By the way, last week I bought HTC Hero. I hope it wouldn't sound like blasphemy but HTC and Android are light years ahead of Meizu and Windows CE...
Don't get me wrong - I loved my Meizu, but truth be told - it is mostly copycat and if Meizu do not invest in some R&D and customer support they will always stay a local niche Chinese company.
