Thanked 173 Times in 72 PostsI think the M9 is going to be really good for it's price if they would actually integrate a HDMI output on the M9.
I hope they create a totally new firmware for the M9, so it doesn't have to deal with the bugs the M8 has....
But i am optimistic about the M9
Still, they should have enough money to finish the M8, so why don't they hire more people?
Ow, wait i am saying it all wrong, why don't they hire REAL developers, like banxian and r3wdy? That should speed it up.
I did not mean to offend Meizu's developers, but hey, it has been over ONE year, and even the old UI still contains bugs...Last edited by LVL; 01-23-2010 at 11:27 AM.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostWell about the developing, i think that’s a problem, 2500RMB is really not much, also not in china. I don’t like to compare the M8 and the iphone but here I have to, the iphone 3gS costs about 5000RMB and you really can’t say the M8s hardware would be only half as good. But if so, how to make the software perfect too? Can’t work… I think the solution would be to focus, the always bring out nice and good looking new applications with lots of bugs, instead of stabilize the existing ones.

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsWell to solve such an issue it is a good thing for meizu to launch dev kits (á la mpack tool from Banxian) so one could make custom roms, but ofcourse with more options... but this isn´t going to happen since MS has no opensource os. Meizu could opt for android but i think it is getting too late for that one since they spend to much money in MS already.
It would be in their face if they would launch android now so a smart ceo would now be leaking stuff so fans could complete the build of android them self so they (= meizu) would see what os would be more interesting on profit and enduser level.
yes and no... starting all over again means that the m8 history would be repeating itselfI hope they create a totally new firmware for the M9, so it doesn't have to deal with the bugs the M8 has....
but there is ofcourse a chance that meizu will opt for wince 7 in time.
time will tell, our belonging m8 would also have an tv out, did not see any tv-out cables yet so i am doubting M9 would have this...integrate a HDMI output on the M9
dispite all this chances are big i will buy an m9, but not immediatly cause who know if m9SE will come out a few months later

Meizu CEO teases M9 specs, vaporware threat level: orange
Meizu's irrepressible CEO J. Wong is up to his teasing ways again with more details on the M8's successor, the aptly-named M9 -- and actually, there's nothing about the list that doesn't sound doable for a 2010 release (famous last words, we know). Specifically, the dude's saying that we can expect a 1GHz Cortex A8-based Samsung S5PC110 core, half a gig of RAM and ROM, a 5 megapixel cam, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, TV-out, microSD expansion, and a 3.6-inch screen clocking in at 720 x 480 resolution. Interestingly, he's holding the line on committing to deliver WCDMA, CDMA, and TD-SCDMA versions simultaneously -- theoretically good enough to deliver 3G on China Unicom, China Telecom, and China Mobile, respectively -- with a price in the range of 2,500 yuan (about $366). Possible? Yes -- but with as checkered a past as the good ol' M8 has, we'll believe this one when it's in our hands and not a moment sooner.

Specs looks nice, but about the same specs were speculated about the M8(GPS, tv-out etc.)
And they did not even complete that task.
I really hope they finish this product soon.
It might sound strange, but it's best for Meizu to lay down the pressure of finishing the M8, and start pushing forward with their M9.
The M8 is pretty useless by now if you look at the specs of it.
The M8 can be beaten by the Iphone, HTC Hero/HD2, Nexus One.
And why the hell won't they hire more developers?
I know it's not easy to create a phone and a stable firmware, but come on, ONE WHOLE year. By that time i could have walked 10 times to china and back to my home.
Ow, and the M8SE is a complete failure, in my opinion.
Why release a second edition if it is outdated?
Start developing a good stable firmware and a up-to-date-phone, or else you are going to get smacked in the face by Samsung, HTC, and all the other smartphones that ARE up-to-date.
But i do love my M8, very very much
But i would buy the M9 if they dropped the M8 for a while.
The M9 has a future, the M8 not at all, let's face it
But at the moment, the M8 is not a bad phone for it's price.
Seriously look at the specs the hd2 it has less ram and cannot do the 1080p, not even gonna talk about the iphone, and the nexus one has the same specs but honestly they are all above the 600€ price range, this one is less then half, and if you don´t like it don´t buy it but stop saying things like the phone isn´t worth it. Besides that if you know how to read the m8 is in its beta tests its not for sale outside of china.

Aww, no internal storage? Normal SD is more commonplace, maybe that would have been a better choice. Just hope this doesn't get delayed years and years
. A mini digital audio out of some sort should be implemented. Meizu products are known for their sound quality, so why not take it up a notch for the audiophiles out there?
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

The OS for M9 may be based on Android since WinCE is expensive.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

Thanked 269 Times in 146 PostsWould be great...but is it so much easier to build this on Android?
I mean, it took Meizu a long time on Win and we all know how far they got - stability
...
But anyway Android based is great!

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsFAIL!
If there is only a mini usb then the chances are small for tv-out even in SD quality..
strange, why then putting the effort in mymobile and mystore? The OS for M9 may be based on Android since WinCE is expensive.
it would be a loss of money and time for them and for us!(= new os = new bugs)

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostBut android is from google, and they have some problem with china. If google leaves china, maybe meizu is not allowed to use android, who knows, the chinese censorship is often really strange…
