Do foreign headsets work with M8?

Hello there!

I am thinking about buying Sennheiser MM 50 which provide headset functionality. Will the headset work with the M8?

Or will other headphones (other than the Meizu ones) with headset capability work as headset with the M8?

Never mind, I think they are Nokia specific..
I bought normal ones now...

Anyways are there other headsets that would work?

If I'm correct the Meizu headset has a similar plug as the left one on this image (with 3 lines - 1 of them is for microphone):



So my guess that if you can find other headsets with the same jack plug they should work...

iPhone and Sony PSP headsets should have the same plug.

Yes, MeiZu uses the 3,5 mm jack for audio. The headset that follows the phone has 4 connection points on it, one for ground, one for microphone and one for each ear plug.
You can use headsets with only three connections, but then you won't have the microphone function.. So you can use whatever headset you want, as long as it uses the standard 3,5 mm jack

I recommend getting a good hands free blue tooth headset. There have been known hardware issues with the Meizu M8 (first gen) audio jack.... and since i got my hands free, its a lot more easy to listen to music without having to hold the physical phone.
A good BT headset i recommend is the 'Jabara BT3030'... excellent sound quality with 3.5 jack for any headphones..

And I didn't get a headset cause I didn't know...
Anyways in the future I know what to look for and this may help others looking for other headsets
