Screen Automaticlly goes blank when making a call

Just got my M8 SE running 0.9.3.8 installed. When I make a call my screen goes blank. How can I change that? I would like to access the number keyboard for when I'm prompted by automated systems. Exp: Please Press 2 for english or to deleted your voicemail press 7 etc.

the screen should turn on againwhen you take the phone from your ear.
Maybe the light and proximity senor over the microphone are blocked?

thanks. you were correct. I had to take off my silicone case in order for it to work. do you use a silicone case?

Mabe you can cut or bend the silicon case?

I use only a Benks Screenguard and a leather pouch.

i have 3 silicon cases, all of them have a little cut on the upper side for the proximity sensor(uses Infrared technology).
So you must have a very bad quality silicon case
