Broken touchscreen - instant replacement in Meizu stores

I bought my Meizu M8 online, and I'm facing the known broken touchscreen problem. However, I'm going on vacation to Asia in 2 weeks, and I'm making a stopover in Hong Kong. My question is, if I'm going to a real Meizu store in Shenzhen, do you think they can direct replace my M8 for a new one? Because I bought it online, and I'm not sure if they instantly recpale it anyway... Any experiences with this?

I'm not sure if this is the right sub forum btw... :/

replacement is easy in a meizu shop

    hi,
i bought my m8 (FE) in april 2009 in nanjng. this summer my touchscreen started fading (as many others, too...) i was lucky to return to nanjing in october 2009; went back to the same shop (I had my chinese translator write a text similar like this: "my phone touchscreen is broken. please replace." plus I had him write "white" in chinese....
well i went back to the shop, showed them the broken phone and the text, they replaced instantly without complaining or anything. when I showed them "white", they gave me even a white SE edition!
I only had to pay 4 eur for a new plastic screen protector...

@waterboy, I know that. I'm doing a study focusing on doing business with China/Asia and heard quite some stories about Shenzhen, so beside the Meizu thing, I'm also quite interested to see a ''new city'' like Shenzhen by myself.

@evow04. haha I sent them an email already!

@rprimavesi, thanks, so I may indeed give it a try! :D

This is interesting, I bought mine online and I've got the touch problem as well. I'm going to Shanghai for a couple of weeks in January, and it would be incredible if I could get it fixed! Please report back if you could/couldn't get it fixed.

So did they respond? If not calling is faster and not that expensive

btw keep in mind that if you will take the complete package on your vacation/business trip customs will notice the package and might be doing difficult about it.

They respond quickly and told me from which supplier in Shenzhen my M8 comes. I sent them an e-mail now.
Yep I'm aware of that, but there's a limit of 430 euros for the Dutch customs now! :D

    hi guys!
as many other people here the touchscreen of my M8 is broken. it does not respond in the bottom corners at first, now the right side of the screen does not work anymore. i cannot ask a seller to replace the screen or change the phone to a SE version because i bought my m8 (old version) about 3 months ago in guangzhou, china and it is kind of tricky to make the contact per email. they asked me for my EMEI and S/N but did not answer anymore after that. the phone is in germany at the moment.
so i was going to ask around if there is somebody living in china who i can send my phone to. this person could deal with the meizu guys in the store then. of course i would pay the service charge, fees for sending the phone to and from china and some bonus to motivate you
is there anybody who can help me? feel free to PM me
    greetings from germany

    Wrong topic I guess.
But you can send the numbers and they will tell you which store you have to contact. Contact the store and send it, you have to trust them, at least that's the only way to get a replacement, except if you find someone in Guangzhou!

Haha we'll see, I think I'm going to the store this Friday in Shenzhen:

As Meizu says: ''Your info was passed to the dealer, and he said he would take care of your case.''

    hi!
    im back
read my story a few posts above to understand.
honestly guys, how do you communicate with the meizu support? i wrote quite a lot emails to them and i am turning in a circle and starting to loose my mind. i ask them to fix my m8 and where they want me to send it to and how they want the money - > they say i have to talk to the store where i bought it at. then i tell them that i bought it in the meizustore in guangzhou, china and ask for the contact address -> they send me a chinese phonenumber and offer me any further help. so i ask them to fix my m8 and where they want me to send it to..... (see beginning of the "circle").
do you have experience with this? again: i dont have a seller, i bought it direct of meizu!
    greetings

    Unresponsive Touchscreen

Hi everyone, I am strugling with my touch screen, last month removed the screen gaurd and since then started facing unresponsiveness of screen. Initially started from left bottom corner, tthen suddenly 2 weeks later whole screen was behaving strangly. Just thinking how can a screen behave like this even when one year is not completed for me. I am thinking if can I ask for the replacement with M8se. I baught it on march. Another think can anyone tell me if this touchscreen issue is due to screen gaurd, because I saw Nice2know post where he was saying lotsof users are facing issue after using screen gaurd.

    greetings
    thatīs not funny!
But when i contacted them in the past i noticed that they had difficulties to understand english sometimes. So i think it is normal that you have such answers.
Best thing to do is sending them an email where you state that you have bought it at the Meizu store x in china, you are currently not in china anymore and would like to ship directly to them for repairs?

Try to ask them it in a very basic english and i am sure you will get the response you need?

tarun_funy, most people have the issue after using a screenguard, others donīt. We know it is just a bad part that is been used in a batch of m8 devices. So donīt worry and contact your seller for the replacement procedure. M8FE isnīt made anymore so you will normally recieve the SE immediately without asking for it.

I don't see anything strange with their replies.

The Meizu store in Guangzhou is a franchise. If you bought it from there, you return it there. Maybe you can return it to any Meizu retail store in China? The M8 is not supported outside of China, so once it's broken it's tough luck.

Also, most people have obtained their M8s from "sellers" on the online grey market. I don't see why Meizu should spend money supporting RMA for those units when others are illegitimately selling them for profit. It's only fair then that the "sellers" help with RMA, no? I know this is not your case, but they might still think it is this way.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

    Evow, Thanks for your reply.
Recently i found that M8 was purchased in feb, I am in India so have to ask some1 whos going to china(Colleagues) to get replaced within this time frame. Can you tell me If it will cross the 1yr time frame, will they still replace it with M8SE charging me the amount or will replace the new screen, i heared that SE is having better sound quality and signal strength.
Thanks for your help in advance

    tarun_funy,
i have no idea what they would charge you once the warranty is passed.
So i canīt help you with that one, sorry.

Err0r, you are problably right about the grey and blackmarket,
But you should try to contact them once, just for fun.
Some of the responses you will get are an epic fail!

Oww btw, when i remember well, some users were able to send their device directly to meizu because they mentionned that they had no warranty card.
So tarun_funy could for example use the search button on the word 'warranty', i am sure some experiences are listed somewhere in the results.
