Hotmail cannot send email help!

ive setup my hotmail with the following settting i can receive and read email without any problem
however i cannot send email it keep saying "Send Email Error"
i tried switching SSL on and off with por 25 but no success

anybody can helpme out plz

Smtp : smtp.live.com (Port 25 - SSL enable)
User : <your_email_adress@hotmail.com>
Password : <your_password>

Not forgot to put user and password for pop and smtp too
You need to go in the advanced part to setup the port and enable SSL

same problem here...

I can receive but not send ;(

do you use the wifi or gprs/Edge?

And does the isp, who you are using to send the e-mail, on port (b)locking?
I mean do they allow you to use any outgoing port 25 other then their defaults?
Most isp´s do not allow you to use other smtp servers then themself, so what if you change you server/port to the one provided by the network?

I am sure that you then will be able to send the e-mail...
(btw that was an easy question lol)

Some Mail providers use 'POP before SMTP' as a kind of security mechanism.
They require you to checkfor new mail before you can send mail.
I have not seen a way to enable that behaviour on the M8.
So it might be also something like that.

I have the same problem as well. For me "sending" stopped working approx early NOV. "Receiving" stopped working early DEC.

I am now running 0.9.5.215 FW but had been running 0.9.3.x prior to 12/24 FW release. I am on T-Mobile US and thought (perhaps) that they made a configuration change as part of 3G sow upgrades to get HSPA from 3.6Mbps to 7.2Mbps. It is probably unlikely but you never know.

Has anyone tested w/ another mail provider (e.g., GMail)?

I got gmail on it and worx both recieving and sending.

Setup / tested Gmail - works fine. Using browser to access Hotmail (may setup forwarding). Will periodically revisit setup and test...

i think m8 is more compatible with google than hotmail

tested hotmail today with the newst FW....does not work at all..

...can someone help?

Doesn't work for me either.

I'll try to create a google account to see if the problem come from the webmail, or from the FW.
