WinMo 6.5

Would it be possible to port WinMo 6.5 to M8?
I mean, if it already runs Win CE then maybe it wouldn't be so difficult to have working WinMo 6.5 on it with working drivers etc.

Ofcourse it would be possible since winmo is based on wince that is used on the M8. But main issue is that there needs to be a source for winmo be available first and you would need what kind of patches do need to be applied.
Since wince/winmo are closed source it is not that easy to undertake those actions that is why you rarely see portings to those os´es..

Let's take acer f900 for example. It doesn't have official winmo 6.5 rom but users have still managed to port it. How did they do it then?

You have to extract an offical ROM,, Then use 2 xip files and one sys folder,, wich could be found in the extracted rom directory...,,

Then cook this within a windows Mobile directory..

Here you could find all kinds of guides to cook a WM rom. Mostly its for HTC,, but not always., The way of cooking is the same for each phone.

This dude has ported winCE on my WM device.., You can probably ask him for info,,
