Thanked 189 Times in 130 Postsif it is a used one , yes it is expensive. (400$ buys you a new 16gb version)
silent-neo, you better get an SE version.
pro´s and contra, i would say just have a look on the forum cause many things can go wrong..

Thanked 14 Times in 9 Postsow no its not a used one its boxed with all original plastics on it and a 1 year warranty included as well all within the box and all in the nylons
its the 8gb version and i can chose between the black or white versions
if its an se or re or original i honestly have no clue but thats what i will be asking the seller ...
how can i spot the difference ? the music button on the side is a good enough indication ? though i would rather have that music button as my most used feature is music mainly and i heard that the meizu's music chip is one of the best not to mention its stereo speakers is it true ?
and what about the screen ? which one looks better the se's or the original's ?
mmm and is the original defective .. like does it have a common problem
sorry if im asking way too much but really 400$ isn't a small amount of money right ? :S

Thanked 1,049 Times in 391 PostsI'd rather get an SE altough you will get one less button (music)...
but lots of people were having issues with the original M8's touchscreen as sometimes it would stop working either partially or completely...not so convenient to send it back to China for repairs... This said to be fixed on the SE versions, and also it has a newer sound chip than the original one.
I think the screen is a bit more dim on the SE, but there's no big difference...maybe someone with an SE will confirm this

Thanked 14 Times in 9 Poststhank you nice2know_u
as i understand you have the older version and not the SE
how much time have you had it ? and has it done you any of the problems mentioned by others ?
anyway i suppose you're right and i should do the more logical thing and buy the newer one :s
any other suggestions ? does the white version look cheap ? my issue with it is that it doesn't look consistent so i might probably go for the classic black !

Thanked 200 Times in 145 PostsI totaly reccomend the SE for anyone outside China ^^ (because maybe inside china you get better TecSupport)
Maybe the RE is about as good but i realy dont need the Music button on the phone and have up to now no problems with the screen or anything on the phone.
Edit:
And i love the classic black. it is black at screen and buttons, antrazit frame around the screeen and Piano black back body. but i would love to be able to compare it directly to the white edition.Last edited by Loonix; 11-16-2009 at 08:37 PM.

Thanked 1,049 Times in 391 PostsYes I have the older version and so far I had no problems with it in 10 months of usage. Others haven't been as lucky as I am though

The reason I would go for the white one is that the fingerprints are not that noticable on it's back

Thanked 83 Times in 30 Postsi recomment SE or new RE versions.
the new RE is equited with new battery, new touchscreen and new antenna(new means same as SE version). but the only problem is the new RE just got released in china, you have to wait if you are not in china.

Thanked 14 Times in 9 Postsnice2know_u....
having the older version wouldn't you miss the music button ? as so many short actions are executed using it .... like changing to the next track without looking at the screen... this option is really useful for someone jogging (like i do) is there an alternative for that ? like pressing and holding the volume button while listening to music ?
mmm and color wise im still undecided ... the white is unique but black looks more massive .... mmm

I think you have the Meizu M8SE. $400 is a bit much though. You can get a SE 8GB for around $349. A RE M8 can be picked up for around $289.
The Meizu was not made for the International Market so brace yourself for alot of software related headaches.
The phone is unique and awesome once you set it up right though.
By the way i have both Black&White Meizu's and the White one looks so much better!!

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsI think you will be upgrading if you do come from a viewty, but also a bit downgrading. It depends on how you look onto it ;-)

Thanked 14 Times in 9 Postsmy problem with the viewty is that it was laggy ... and limiting in terms of performance ,apps , memory (it only supported 2 gb and when inserted it gets laggy) and the screen was too narrow .. i never used 3g and i dont want to use it and the 5 mp is just there whenever needed :s mmm my main usage in a mobile phone is calling smsing a lot and listening to music for hours non stop ,watching videos ... and messing with customisations and themes.
so in what way am i downgrading ?

Thanked 189 Times in 130 Postsyou are downgrading in service factor, local support, standard app´s,.. such things.
But it is up to you if you would hate that cause all the rest will work better.
