Cannot send text message in US

Hi I am using a M8 in America. I am using AT&T as my cell phone provider and have unlimiterd text service. However, when I send a text message my M8 says the text cannot be sent and adds 155 in front of the number I am ttrying to text. For example if I'm trying to text 404-567-8901 it sends the message to 1554045678901 and the text fails. please help.

works fine for me here with at&t. what firmware are you using? I remember it happening to me before (dont remember if it was the exact situation) but try updating to new firmware or reseting registry

I am using Hardware version 1.0
and software version 0.9.2.7

I have tried everything but nothing is working. Please help!!

did you try changing firmware

Your firmware is outdated. Update the firmware to the new 0.9.3.8.

I have updated the firmware. However the same problem persists.

i have been using 0927 since i got mine and its perfect! i aint changing mine.

that is strange.
you are sure you entered the phone numbers in the address book correctly?
Think you might wonna try to enter it completly with in the beginning your country code +1 or 001 ?

cause 155 is a carrier code i think and it could be an areacode in the us aswell?
Maybe you could try with an other sim from an other operator/carrier?

The area code here is 615 and I can call them perfectly. I also have no other sim card to try because my whole family is on At&T

You said you tried the number "404-567-8901". Now i have never had a problem with sending text msg, But you should try sending TXT's with the #1 in front of it. like so "14045678901" it probably thinks you are trying to send it to some other country or something,, the phone doesnt know so it adds 155 in front of it, but try it out.

yes, you need the one bc if you put area code it needs the 1 first.
