I understand that most people favor Andriod OS because there are more softwares, but my question is, even if we have andriod running my our M8s, would most andriod softwares work on the M8 as well? Or do most andriod apps need to be tweaked/customized before being able to run on m8?

Thanked 12 Times in 8 Postshmm.... i don't think that they have to be ported.... afaik it's like you running ubuntu or windows xp on x86, you don't need to customize applications for other hardware...

Thanked 189 Times in 130 Postswell maybe some may need to be tweaked a bit for supporting the right screensize.. but like raangu mentions most of them should work out of the box.
Android will bring tons of apps to m8, how great is that :-)

Thanked 173 Times in 72 PostsThe availability of a wide range of applications is what attracts android so much.
Besides all the applications available, android WILL be more used than windows mobile in the future. (this is what researches have discovered)
And of course, android is opensource, so companies will get financially attracted.
And the interface is very very nice in my opinion
I do not understand why Meizu keeps busy with wince, we have NO apps from big developers, only fan-made/homebrew.
So android is better in these ways
All systems for smartphones have a big potential, but only those who will be used a lot will use that potential, as android does with lots of upcoming phones.Last edited by LVL; 11-02-2009 at 09:03 AM.

Thanked 200 Times in 145 PostsBut Android will also bring a lot of new problems.
We dont know if we can get all the drivers for the Hardware and we might not get things like Graphic acceleration or ambient light sensors.
Dual Touch might be a problem (not natively supported by Android) and probably we can not use all Media formats the Meizu OS can use.
But all that remains to be seen ^^Meizu M8 SE - FW 0.9.9.18 (dao89 n450) Dualboot LBE A11 Android 2.2

Thanked 189 Times in 130 Postsi must agree with you guys.
Do think that android with a gui-shell like they are building right now
would be wonderful to have.
But i think they are scarred to do this. They invest money in developers to build this and once it is on open source software people like xda could easily port it to other rom´s.
Since it is based on oss, they must provide source like defined in the pact that google has about android...
So that is maybe on of the reason´s they do not want android..
About touch.. yey indeed but like mentioned in the past somewhere on this forum there are work arounds and i thought multitouch is in the pipeline with upcoming android releases...
On the drivers problem.. we will see if someone could hack them,
if not we are depending on Meizu..
Still wonna know the reactions from meizu about android.
