Hello forum members..
just an update.. after 3 LONG months of trying to get MMS working on my meizu m8.. I FINALLY GOT IT WORKING IN AUSTRALIA WITH VODAFONE !!!
I hope everyone else having the same problem resolves this.. Here is what i did..
I CAN SEND AND RECIEVE MMS !!!!! :D :D
Firstly i am using FW 0.9.3.6
I have M8 SPRITE 1.3.3 installed..
so this is what i did..
SETTINGS - GPRS - then i made 2 new profiles..
Profile 1:
Name: VODAFONE PXT
Apn: live.vodafone.com
User Name: ( Leave blank )
Password: ( Leave blank )
Proxy Sever: 10.202.2.60
Port: 8080
Server: http://pxt.vodafone.net.au/pxtsend
Profile 2:
Name: VODAFONE LIVE
Apn: vfinternet.au
User Name: ( Leave blank )
Password: ( Leave blank )
Proxy Server: 10.202.2.60
Port: 8080
Server: ( live.vodafone.com ) - do NOT put the ( )
Make sure you save the profiles just created.
(m8 sprite)
Make sure GPRS, International are ON
make sure Call First is OFF.
THEN:
go to MESSAGES - SETTINGS - APN and select VODAFONE PXT ( make sure blue dot is next to it - this lets you know it is selected )
THEN:
go to M8 SPRITE - SYSTEM - REGISTRY EDITOR - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - SOFTWARE - Meizu - Sms and these are my settings
ApName:
VODAFONE.PXT
Dialogize:

GPRSConnect:
vfinternet.au
GPRSPassword:

GPRSUser:
( live.vodafone.com ) - do NOT put the ( )
Information:

MMSRecv:

PreviewNewSmsContent:

ProxyIP:

ProxyPort:

RefuseUnkown:

ServerAddress:
( live.vodafone.com ) - do NOT put the ( )
SmsCenter:

ThreadID:

THEN:
M8 SPRITE - FILE ASSOCIATIONS - txtfile - then ADD / REMOVE and add .ini then click save..
MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THESE CHANGES.. RESTART YOUR PHONE AND THATS IT WORKS !!!!
Note:
Im still trying to work out how to get vodafone live to work..
Special thanks to cri_sor2002 for helping me in the other posts regarding this !!Last edited by globalbargains; 10-20-2009 at 10:20 AM.

Thanked 2 Times in 2 PostsGood job if MMS works for you
Hi! You are wellcome globalbargains! I am glad that it works for you. I still have some issues: in my opinion if you have at APN Name: Vodafone PXT so, at GPRSConnect you should have live.vodafone.com because it is apn of Vodafone PXT profile. In fact i think that you are using for MMS send or receive, the apn: vfinternet.com so you are using Vodafone Live for sending and receiving MMS. Maibe you are using internet connection for data transfer of MMS. So, if you have a certain traffic quantity of MB included in vodafone live service, it may be possible to absorb that quantity of MB (KB for MMS) from your included traffic of internet. What i want to say is that you may be using internet data transfer for MMS and not perceive MMS as standard multimedia message and payed as MMS but as internet data transfer. I hope you understand what i am saying because i start to loose my line of thoughts.
I will try to explain in my case: as i told you before i have active an extraoption named Mobile Internet and i have 10 MB traffic included. So if i send and receive MMS through apn: internet.vodafone.ro and not the settings for MMS (apn:mms.vodafone.ro) so in this case the amount of KB used for MMS are absorbed from initial 10 MB traffic included. If you have unlimited internet it's ok but if not and you might use MMS a lot, it will decrease your amount of MB traffic reserved for internet.
What i have said It's an ideea that it could be true. I am not 100% sure but it is possible. Maybe if you follow the gprs usage from Settings, Usage, GPRS network data, before and after you send or receive MMS and that data change, it is possible to be true what i have just enounced.

Thanked 11 Times in 6 PostsNice that more and more people get MMS to work!
I got this little question about it all, because Netcom (my provider) uses two totally different settings for GPRS and MMS.
Code:* Name: NetComGPRS * APN: netcom * Proxy: 010.254.254.010 * Port: 8080 * Username: wap * Password: netcom
In the settings -> gprs -> I just plot in what it says in these steps, but when I am going in to the registry to edit everything there, I start to wonder what should be where.Code:* Name: NetComMMS * APN: netcom * Proxy: not set/blank * Port: not set/blank * Username: mms * Password: netcom * Server: not set/blank * MMSC: http://mm/ * MMS proxy: 212.169.66.4 * MMS port: 8080
Could someone verify if this is how it should be? Does it look logic to any of you? It doesn't make sense to meCode:* ApName: NetcomMMS (The same as the name of the MMS settings I made?) * GPRSConnect: NetcomGPRS (Should this be the name of the GPRS connection? * GPRSUser: netcom (I thought it might be the same as in GPRS connection) * GPRSPassword: netcom (the same as the password in the GPRS connection) * ProxyIP: 212.169.66.4 (The proxy ip for the MMS connection) * ProxyPort: 8080 (Still from MMS connection) * ServerAddress: http://mm/ (The MMSC?)

Please give me some other examples on how to do this
By the way, I'm at fw 0.9.3.6

any thoughts?
edit: looks like it might be a bug in the firmware, after some searching around the forums. apparently firmware 0.9.1.7 works with MMS, but i havnt tried it =/Last edited by dantetyrant; 12-12-2009 at 04:14 PM.
