OK, this tutorial is dedicated to all the stupid brainwashed people on this forum who are using windows just to use an OS.
step 1: plug the player
step 1a: if player hangs perform soft reset (play + >>|)
step 2: download this: download zip these are the folders/files on a standard clean player
step 3: open disk utility
step 4: identify player and it's partition
step 5: erase the partition using ms-dos and give it a name: m6
step 6: copy folders downloaded in step 2 to player
step 7: copy music to player
step 8: fire up terminal
step 9: sudo -s and authenticate
step 10: cd /volumes/m6
step 10a: rm -r .* answer yes to all
step 11: while connected to computer shutdown the player using play button
step 12: remove usb
step 13: freaking slow boot time...everything ok
major downside:
after this operation the player refuses to mount again
... just hangs on connection
solution ? - none for the moment...when connecting the player again, the player just removes all the data...so shut down the player when needed to recharge ......
want more music ? retrace steps starting with 1a
hope this helpsLast edited by JkPwNsTeR; 08-29-2009 at 05:20 PM. Reason: NO NEED TO TYPE WITH CAPS LOCK (see what I mean?)

You realize that you might start a lengthy flame war with some people with this post?
Windows is an good OS, if OS X had 90% market share and Windows 5%, would you say the same about OS X? Also, a while ago, Apple and Microsoft had a partnership to develop software for each other, and with this partnership they also allowed each other to implement the other's OS elements.Last edited by JkPwNsTeR; 08-29-2009 at 05:30 PM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsJkPwNsTeR - OSX is by far the most superior OS on the PC market i dont see any OS with the initiative to harvest the major GPU power and Snow Leopard will be the first one. On this moment OSX dictates the new standards Winy just hangs on the popularity and copies parts of OSX...It is the cheap solution. I for one use a Linux to host a server, use a Winy to game, and use a MAC to code/design.
@JkPwNsTeR - how about a sticky :PLast edited by RR_PRIME; 08-29-2009 at 07:34 PM.

Maybe the Mac/M6 problems occur because OSX can't handle FAT32 (developed by Microsoft) in a correct manner?
Seagate recommends for their portable hard drives:
Your new Seagate Pocket drive is factory-formatted with a FAT32 file format. Although your Macintosh operating system may recognize and mount your new drive with this format, FAT32 is not recommended for use with a Macintosh OS. You must format your drive using one of the Mac OS format types before you use it with your Macintosh operating system.
