So Im thinking of buying a dane elec meizu because its all i can afford right now, but before I do I have a couple of questions for you awesome people:
1. What are important differeces between the two?
2. Can I put Original meizu firmware in Dane Elec player? (I heard that Dan:e Elec firmware disables radio and restriscts voume and I dont want that)
3. If the answer to #2 is yes, then what is the latest firmware that I should download? (All I really want with firmware is album art btw)
Thank you very much. I am loving this meizu community already!

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsThere are no hardware differences, only firmware, but you can solve that by installing official Meizu firmwares.
Firmwares are in the download section, 2.004.6 is the latest I think.

Thanked 19 Times in 19 Posts1. None. The only mainly difference is the printed information on the back and package and shipped firmware.
The player itself and hardware is the same. In my case I did experience some difference by included accessories on the SP but I don't think is the case with SL.
2. You can easily update to original firmware and get radio like me.
@nice2know_u
nope, the 2.004.7 is the latest but it s**** so I would stick to 2.004.6 anyway. Album art support btw

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsOne more thing. To add firmware, do I put the m6.ebn file in the music folder, and the resource.bin file in the pictures folder, or what?
Im just really worried. I dont want to brick the player

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsYou put both of the files in the root of your player (not in any directory).

Don't worry, you cannot permanently brick your player through a firmware update. To update, just go to "My Computer" and drag both the m6.ebn and Resource.bin into your player's drive icon. All set, unplug your player and restart it. It will show a white screen, this is normal, just don't touch it for 5 minutes. When 5 minutes is over, your player should have turned off, and then just turn it back on again. It might have a no resource error, in that case, just plug it into your computer again and drag the Resource.bin file back into the player's drive icon. Restart the player and you should be set.
Of note, make sure you use the correct firmware for your player. Look on the back of your player, and a version should be listed. You need to use the same firmware for your player as the version that is listed on the back of your player. Hope this helps!If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.
