Hold switch broken + player now no longer works :(

Hi everyone, I have a feeling this might be the end of my beloved M6.

The hold switch is broken, it's now completely loose (moves freely) so it must be broken inside. Even worse it's stuck in the hold position so I can now no longer turn it on.

It wouldn't be under warranty anymore so I think I'm going to try opening it. I have nothing to lose. Before I do, any suggestions/tips of how I might repair this?

I would open it up and try to fix the hold switch. Better than trowing it away.

Maybe if you switch it to the "Hold position" (So that you see the red), and you press the hold switch in hard and then while still keeping a lot of pressure on it, try to switch it to the "Normal" position. That might just have the broken plastic inside catch and switch the hold switch back. If that doesn't work, than the only option is to disassemble it and switch it back with a pin. Hope this helps!
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

    Thanks for your help.

I had to open it up and the small plastic catch that turns the switch off hold has broken. It was easier than I thought; I switched it back with a pin and it works, but unfortunately that means I can't use hold anymore (half the switch works, but if I put it on hold I'll have to open it up to turn it off again). So good that it still works though!

It would be too small to repair the plastic catch.

It's a long-shot but can anyone think of makeshift solutions I could try? Like a substitute switch or something. Ideas?
