Macs don't give a crap about my Meizu anymore

    oh dude

I've been through a lot with my Meizy-baby and the evil evil Mac at my workplace. The most common incident being my Meizu freezing on the Library-Update-message after disconnecting from my Mac. Formatting as well as hours spent figuring out what firmware to use and trying my best to not get it killed again when putting firmware on.

So about two days ago I accidentally disconnected my Meizu from my Mac because the USB-cable wasn't plugged in properly - my bad - after which I got the lovely "YOU JUST UNPLUGGED IT WITHOUT DISCONNECTING YOU GOD DAMN IDIOT"-message.

Not the first time this ever happened, but ever after that particular time, my Mac, and ANY Mac for that matter, refuses to show my Meizu on the Desktop or anywhere at all. So what I reckoned is there are two reasons for this:

1 - Something in the Mac-registry or wherever has strange or corrupted settings for my Meizu and doesn't show it anymore.

Can't be since it's not working on other Macs - what never even saw my Meizu, ever - as well.

2 - My Meizu has a strange or corrupted setting in it.

No sir, when this occured, I formatted and resetted all hell out of my Meizu - both soft and hard from the Meizu and the formatting of Windows. Speaking of which, why does my PC still recognize it but my Mac doesn't?

... so? What else option IS there?

It's not mandatory that I can plug my Meizu in at work, I got all my music at home anyway, and it still charges in case I should ever need that, but it would still be nice to know, you know?

Thanks in advance, and egh, sorry for posting two topics in like, three hours.

I'm not really sure. I mean, I did add files from my PC at home to my Meizu and when I connect it to the Mac at work, nothing happens - or did I misunderstand the explanation?

Edit: Oh great, now I'm back at another previous problem that I strangely only get with Macs. My player works fine, but it says I have no songs on it. When I go to Browser, it shows me all folders and files just great, but as soon as I open one, I see the "x/x"-song-number on the top-left running down to zero fast and it claims that I should "select a song to play."

    Great fun, great fun.

I think the obvious solution would be to quit your job. Nobody should have to use a mac at their job. That's horrific.

I know! It's sickening, but there's nothing I can do about it these days.

But seriously, yeah. What can you do. Or rather, what can I do?

    Fixing to appear on Mac

I think one of the big reasons that Meizus won't appear on Mac is due to the Spotlight indexing, for some reason whenever Spotlight tries to index Meizu it really corrupts it and I have a hard time deleting files from it as well as it mounting on the desktop.

The way I had to get it to work finally and play nice with mac was to reformat on a PC machine (fortunately I have boot camp and Windows XP) then use a program called Spotless to disable Spotlight for Leopard. I was then able to mount the Meizu on my Mac machine with no issues.

It's only when Spotlight is on and I mount the Meizu, when things get rotten in Denmark.

It's quite a work around but nevertheless it seems to work on my end.
