TS? I understand there are only four models, the early T1, TP, SP, and SL. I think you have the TP version; as far as I know there is no TS version. The answer can be found in the FAQ (which is somewhat outdated):

TP can be called the final version of the Mini Player. It uses a screen from Toshiba.

SP is the latest version. It is cheaper than TP because Meizu decided to use a cheaper Samsung screen, rather than the one from Toshiba in TP players. Apart from the screen differences, SP players are less than half a millimeter thicker than TP ones.

Some gadget news websites have reported additional differences between SP and TP players incorrectly.

Never heard of a TS version before...might be a Dane-Elec (or some other company) branded SL or something... In that case SL firmware should be just fine. Was it working with the SL firmware before you connected it to the Mac?

Odd... In that case you should probably be able to update the firmware like so:

Your player's screen will flash white, or stay on a steady white. Don't worry, your player isn't toast, it just shows that screen. Put your player down and don't touch it for 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes your player should have shut off by itself, and you can now restart your player.

only 2.004.7 worked, older ones didn't
apart from some bugs in video playback there were no problems (well, before it like died^^)

i installed the TS thing from the meizu page (labelled 2.004.6)
tried to install a skin (Meizu Me - Downloads - Cool Blue [2.004.5/6]), didn't work
only standard backround+top/bottom bar, no text

Just put the resource.bin file from your firmware package in the root folder of the player, reboot it and it should be fine.

Otherwise it's odd that we've never heard of a TS version... Maybe it's a newer revision?

I have never heard of a TS version player either, although by the looks of it, it is an SL player. Just try doing a normal SL firmware update, and you should be fine.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G

Current Audio Congifuration: X-Fi Elite Pro w/LM4562 Mod -> Mission MS-50 + Boston Acoustics Subwoofer

so i checked the box again and had it translated by a chinese exchange student

it says that it's supposed to be sold in china and that there's no warranty service elsewhere

Ouch... Sorry about the warranty, but electronics usually don't break easily.

If it came with SP firmware loaded then keep using SP and you'll be good. There seems to be sorta mess around that one!

T and S stand for screen manufacturer. Ts were produced by Toshiba and then replaced with S's by Samsung. Current players have all Samsung screen which could lead me to think it may be a unit from the very last batches with Toshiba screen.

Then again, if it came with SP FW keep using those and don't mess around TP ones as you could brick your player.

Internet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

    weird stuff :D

i think the actual TS FW works best as older SP FWs didn't work and it crashed after a day with the 2004.7

anyway, i'm happy i have a working player + warranty and what more could you want

After SP version broken, people send back to meizu company to repair. After repair some parts of it, meizu company re-sell it. That is called TS Version.
(The Same as M8 RE Version)

That's odd then... Why does it require a different firmware, I'm guessing they ran out of parts and substituted with new ones.

    Hi Pandastudio,
I don't think it's just a SP RE. It's as slim as the SL. Also Sunny from *** says
TS have a new screen from Toshiba, also new chip. Firmware for TS models are available for download from meizu.com

If you look at some of the biggest marketplaces in China, the TS usually pops up more than SL. I have also see TS on sale outside China few times.
I wonder how differently it performs from the SL. Perhaps I should buy one myself and find out.
Just I don't see much of those TS firmware’s around at all...

    ... NO STUTTER IN A MEIZU M6?????

That would be to loose the brand mark of Meizu... sorry guys! nothing that Meizu do around MP4 could be taken seriously, while Mr Wong is devoting is life to young models and M8.

I love my M6SL... but I've simply forget any support from this strange Chinese company... Meizu is the name really?
