The M6 is somewhat quite old now, and the focus of this forum has basically shifted to the M8, and future products.

Unfortunately, I don't really have time for every little detail, so no. You can probably find it using the search function along the lines of "2.002.3 SL".

    Thanks for the firmware list!

I just bought my Meizu 2Gb.
It's model number on box: DA-M4-02-MZ3

    Version: SP on the back

Does it mean this is a M4 SP ?

    Thank you!

    a)It's still an M6.

b)You'll probably want to get 2.004.6

    hey i just bought a dane-elect m6-spversion

I was wondering how do you tell what firmware version you have?

Plus I don't want to risk bricking my mp3 player considering I just bought it, and all I want to do is listen to music. Can someone please tell me what the most important benefits are of updating the firmware?

p.s. I only care if the firmware make my mp3 player run better and repair bugs.

    Hope you guys can help!

For updating firmware, just follow the old proverb, "If it ain't broken don't fix it". In your case however, if you need access to FM functionality, some Dane-Elec M6's have it disabled. You can re-enable it by updating your firmware to the regular version.

To check which firmware version you have, it should be the same or similar to the 2.004.6 release: Main Menu, Settings, About.

As JkPwNsTeR pointed out, you do re-gain the FM Radio. You also get bug fixes, and longer battery life; sometimes more features, although rarely depending on the firmware you already have. To find out what version you have, go to settings, then about. It should be listed. Hope this helps!
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G

Current Audio Congifuration: X-Fi Elite Pro w/LM4562 Mod -> Mission MS-50 + Boston Acoustics Subwoofer

Thank you so much mbarry, and jkpwnster. I have firmware 2.003.2 and I'm going to go with what jkp said - what aint broke don't fix it. I tried the fm tuner and it's a bit cluncky but it works.
You guys are great, thanks for the help!!!
