M6 (SP) cuts out in cold weather

It's not a big problem, it rarely happens. When I use my M6 and it gets very cold (this is becoming apparent now it's winter), it suddenly turns off and then has to go through the full library update when I switch it on again next.

I'm not here for advice as such, it's probably my fault for using it below the specified operating temperature, I'm just interested to know if anyone else experiences the same thing and if so what they do to avoid it.

Apart from this my M6 has been great, I've had it for almost a year now.

Hi, it might be a protection feature, but I doubt that's really the case. Are you using it in extreme conditions like below 0F? If so, then it is a hardware failure, as they are not designed to run that cold, but if it's only 32F outside, then it shouldn't be a problem. Try updating the firmware, that might help. Hope this helps!

I did think about that but I would have thought if it was a protection thing that it would try to shut down properly, not cut out and then need to do the library update. It's probably just above freezing when it happens, but when there's a lot of wind about (especially when walking along) it can get quite cold, if there's no wind it's usually fine. It's fine if you hold it all the time to stop it from getting cold.
