New Firmware able to "read" oga files?

Since September 2008 ogg audio files are named to oga. Its the same format just another extension and my miniPlayer won't play it as long I don't rename it to *.ogg. Pretty anoying since my cd grabber creates just mp3s or ogas. And no, I won't use mp3.

I guess you have to try it yourself. Most users haven't upgraded since the old skins no longer work and the new version doesn't bring much new.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

I thought a forum is there to share experiences not that everybody has to do his own.

And no, I don't have a problem at all Bobby just a question. Forbidden to ask?
    Very friendly.

It is, but since 2.004.7 does nothing interesting nobody has upgrades as it means moving back to the default skin. When it isn't broken, don't fix it. In your case it's broken (as in, doesn't work), so you'd have to try it. You can move back to the old firmware easily, btw.

And I wonder why you would not use MP3, encode it with LAME2 @ 320kbit and it's perfect sound, you can't hear the difference between that and OGA or FLAC. And yes, I use a Meizu M6 and decent earphones.

Not the Quality Issue. Flac and Ogg is free, Mp3 isn't.

I'll test and report, allthough probably nobody will take care.

    LAME is free.
Don't be offended that easily. A problem that can be solved by simply renaming some files just isn't a problem, that's just what I wanted to tell you. Still it is of course an interesting information if the new firmware accepts oga or not.

Don't know if the new firmware reads oga files, but you can configure soundjuicer to rip ogg files also.

    Go to Preferences
    edit profiles
Create a new profile called wherever you want
Copy all the settings from CD Quality, Lossy to this new profile
    Change extension to ogg
    ???
    Profit
