Just got my MiniPlayer - questions...

    Hi everyone

Just got a 4GB MiniPlayer black and it's great!
So small!! The guy sat next to me at work with his iPod nano looks jealous!!

I have a couple of questions...
    1) Navigation of music
The best way I've found so far of navigating through my music is using the browser.
I keep all of my music completely stripped of tags. And rely on filenames and folders, but this causes problems when trying to get to songs using the MiniPlayers 'Music' menu. With both artists and album menus just showing 'unknown artist' and 'unknown album' because of the lack of tags.

And 'All songs' just gives you a full recursive list of the songs, without showing them in folders.
The browser is a bit annoying too since when you click enter on it a menu pops up asking whether you want to open or delete.

That's all fair enough though as I guess most people have their music all nicely tagged.

Has anyone found a way round this?
The best way I've found is to have Song Order set to filename. But it still means I've got to wade through 15 tracks for each album rather than that album appearing as one entry/folder in the alphabetical list.

    2) Where's the best place and price to get hold of a silicone case for my beautiful new miniplayer?
    I'm in the UK.

Since my minplayer's black, do I go clear or black silicone case?

    Thanks
    Ben

    Hi Ben,

The meizu indeed is best suited for use with Mp3 tags.
As most people use them this isnt surprising.
If you like you could however use a tagger program to tag all your files
If your file names are all in order and perfect this is a breeze as you can simply select an option like "create tag after file name"
In that case the tag will show exactly the same as the filename and you will be able to browse through the music section normally
Dont forget to press "update music library" after you made the changes

Yeah I guessed that would be the reason. I'm definitely in the minority not using ID3 tags.
It's not much of a problem - I certainly don't want to go back to using ID3 tags because of it.

I just thought I'd post it out there in case anyone from Meizu wishes to add a 'folder view' option to the 'Song Order' option in the firmware?? :D :D

I dont think someone else would like that... with tags is pretty easy and fast. I do have a couple of players that have browsing option and let me tell you that it becomes pretty boring unless you have patience enough to search all over the folders
Internet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

Why isnt the music library automatically updated everytime the Meizu is disconnected from a USB transfer?

From what Ive heard it only takes a second or three and would be welcmed by many users.

Oh look here for the first v2 firmware released a couple of days ago:

    M6 Firmware V2.000
" edit: just thought i'd confirm that the player now automatically updates the music library everytime you unplug it from the usb. this is not necessarily a good thing as it takes quite a few seconds. a bit irritating if all you've done is load a new resource file."
I hadnt read the above previously but it was a logical addition and WORTHWHILE.

Now just fix the album art problem as I have outlined and mabye make it larger than the current size and I'll finally be happy
The alum art is a very nice thing to have as it makes looking at the screen while chooseing songs more interesting and more personal!

If it updates everytime you pull out the USB, there isn't really anypoint in having the "update music library" button, unless you delete songs from your miniplayer in your miniplayer, if you get what I mean!
