I just received my Meizu M6 SL 4GB a few days ago and am very pleased with the product except for one thing... Sometimes the player works fine for hours but at other times the touchpad starts to malfunction. It starts continuously scolling down rapidly without me even touching the player.
What i tried so far:
- Restarting the player -> doesnt work i need to leave it for a while and then it starts functioning normal again
- Renewing firmware -> it already had the latest firmware on it but i renewed it anyway, the problem became less frequent but its still present
- Calibration -> the SL player doesnt have a way to explicitly calibrate, it should do so on powerup
- Resetting to factory defauls -> formats the whole thing, i loaded some files to test it with, the problem remains.
Any one has any experience with this problem?

Hold the "enter" button almost anywhere in the interface, press the play button, and press menu to exit. This will calibrate the touchpad.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsMy player (the SL-version) only has 4 buttons and they are all on the touchpad. The M-button, fastforward-button, reverse-button, playpause-button. Which do you mean by the "enter"-button?

No... It has five. Five. Count 'em. The power button (Play/Pause) on the top edge, the four buttons on the touchpad, and the hold switch on the bottom. It has the same amount of buttons as the normal one, last time I checked.
So, if you mean that way, you hold the "down" button on the face until it says touch error, then press the "power" button, then press the "up" button on the face.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostI'm sorry to say, but you're mistaken. Your description is only true for the TP/SP versions. On the M6SL there's only the touchpad buttons and the hold switch (on the top). The power and enter buttons were merged and are all on the same button now. Also, there is no manual calibration function on the M6SL. That was one of it's improvements: the new touchpad controller is self-calibrating.
@albertg1984:
I own an M6SL for almost 9 months, and I never experienced something like this. Most probably you have a malfunctioning touchpad...
Where did you buy your M6? Is it possible/easy for you to change it back for a new one?

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWell I think they'd get to the problem even if it's not easily reproducable. You'll probably need to wait tho

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostIf you bought it less than 2 weeks ago, and depending on the customer service on that shop, they might be able to change it for a new one directly. Where I live there are a couple of big shops that give that kind of support. Not the smaller local shops though.
Just to make sure: you did say that the problem happens even without touching the touchpad, right?
I ask because the M6 does have a quick-scroll feature (when you put your finger close to the top or bottom of the touchpad) which some times get annoying IMO. This shouldn't happen without you touching it though.

Try restarting your player, but when you do don't touch the touchstrip. Wait until the GUI shows up.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.
Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G
Headphones: SoundMAGIC PL-50s, Auvio In-Ear Armatures, Bose QC-15s.
Current Audio Congifuration: X-Fi Elite Pro w/LM4562 Mod -> Mission MS-50 + Boston Acoustics Subwoofer

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsYeah already payed attention to that. The strange thing is it works fine for hours so calibration must have been alright, just after a certain amount of time it starts malfunctioning. But I already sent it back to the shop i bought it.
Thanks for the suggestions everybody!

Alright, hope your replacement doesn't have the same problem, you must have had a defective player.

I have tried this... and it does nothing when I push the play button.
Any ideas?

It's not supposed to do anything. Just press menu to exit the menu.

Maybe the touchpad just died... I'm not sure, but your problem sounds unusual. Have you exposed it to any moisture?

If you've used it for several years, it could be from old age.
