    dane elec m6sl firmware ?

a few weeks ago i picked up a meizu that is branded with the dane-elec splash screen and i was thinking about going to the latest firmware. it now has 2004.4 and i like to go to .6. the dane-elec site only has a link to the 2004.6 firmware and i'd like to be able to roll back if there is a problem. the only link i can find to 2004.4 is at the meizu site not the dane-elec. the cd supplied with the player doesn't have firmware; just drivers for win98, the manual and video encoding. i can't back up the players firmware because it doesn't show the files in the root directory even when the view settings are set to show all.

can i use the firmware from the meizu site or do i have to beg dane-elec to put past firmware back on the web site?

    thanks
    steve

Yes you can use the 2004.6 firmware from the Meizu site. No problem.
Just remember by updating it will format your player.
Read the "FAQ" section above how to do it.

sorry but thanks for the quick reply.
i realized after posting that it was too much info and not enough question.

the dane-elect (distributed in the US) player can use ANY meizu firmware?

You need to make sure you use the correct firmware version for the right M6 model.
    TP, SP or SL
I suppose you have an M6 or M6SL.
You can find out by looking on the serial number on the backside of your player.
Again read the FAQ’s or search for it around here. This has already been discussed several times.

Any M6 can use any firmware designed for a M6. That includees Emgeton, Dane-Elec, or Meizu's. The only difference between them is the welcome screen. Again, make sure to use the correct firmware. Do not use TP firmware for an SL player. I don't know how many people have bricked their players by doing this. To find your model look above the s/n.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G
Headphones: SoundMAGIC PL-50s, Auvio In-Ear Armatures, Bose QC-15s.
Current Audio Congifuration: X-Fi Elite Pro w/LM4562 Mod -> Mission MS-50 + Boston Acoustics Subwoofer
