There are so many different things you can change with the sound on the meizu m6, which is a good thing I suppose, but I dont know what most of them are tbh so i'm looking for some help.
I tried messing about with them but it made it sound awful, for example on iron maidens run to the hills the bass guitar (not the actual pounding bass sound) over powered the vocals, which really should not happen. In most songs the vocals just didn't seem to impress, they should have range, clarity and power but something seems to be overpowering them.
so do have any suggestions for good sound settings to really make the vocals soar?
(the info I've given should be enough, but if whoever reads this likes manowar that would really help because I'd be listening to them half the time)

08-01-2008 #2birdman: Since the human voice occupies basically the middle parts of the frequency range, you would tweak the middle adjustments on your equalizer. Go the the Equalizer settings section and then to the "User Defined" area. You'll see the various band setting adjustments.so do have any suggestions for good sound settings to really make the vocals soar?
It would look something like a "bell curve" if you know what I mean. Lower and higher bands at 0 decibel settings and the midranges going up and peaking and then sloping down. That should work best for you, but fool around with it and set is for what it most pleasing to your hearing. Also, you might want to turn off or lower any "bass boost", "VIBE (virtual bass enhancement)" or "loudness" settings as they tend to accentuate the bass too much sometimes.
Have Fun!

If it sounds good, it is right for you. I agree with nibiru2008's bell curve, but keep it very slight. I also use slight spatializer on most songs, except those with too much reverb (echo).

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Poststurn all effects off/zero and get proper plugs,
there is no "effect" that can compensate cheap plugs.
the only effect that left some positive impressions for me is PCE
(spacializer norml, PCE=2, other stuff 0)
still, I don't use it with my q-jays.

Yeah, I agree, you have to get better earphones. For now though, try going to Spatializer->PCE, and jacking the PCE up.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsM6 has very good sound setting capabilities. The Bass Boost is by far the best working bass boost that I have heard. It really pumps up the LOW end, not something like 100Hz commonly found in many car/home stereos etc. where there is a "bass" adjust.
The EQ is really neat and it gives you the possibility to flatten the response on what ever you play (speakers or headphones). EQ can be used to modify the sound "image" to your own taste. But when used with care, it can really balance and make your system sound better.
I bought Ultimate Ears Super.fi 3 Studio in-ear phones (UE's lack the bass around 30Hz and the highs above 10kHz, but they have really flat response compared to many others) and even with them I used some Bass boost: 2-3 and with fine tuning with EQ the sound did come more clear. EQ: 0 -2 -3 0 0 -1 -2 0 +2 +4
PCE is just a variable loudness setting. But it sounds better than most of the loudness "thingies" in any other audio stuff out there. I dont use it because when I adjust the EQ, there is no need to boost anything after that.
Treble boost could have more scale, but it works fine. If there is really muffy sounding speakers or headphones, it can be used. I dont use it myself.
The "virtual bass enhancement" is a joke, it just adds some sort of distortion to upper bass/lower mids. In some cases it can produce virtually more bass, but mostly it sounds terrible. "Speaker type" affects just the type of the distortion.
Virtual 3D can be a cool effect and maybe someone likes it when you can't tell whats going on when theres echo everywhere. Personally I find this amusing effect, nothing to do with listening music. Perhaps it could be used in a party where M6 is hooked up with huge stereos and it would give some live concert effect.
If you have an audio system on a car (with after market amplifier) try to hook your M6 with 3.5mm - 2 x RCA cable to your amp and listen. It will sound good. I use my M6 in a car, though I should make some kind of mounting rig for it.Black 8GB miniPlayer SP with FW 2.004.6

Thanked 19 Times in 19 PostsWell said. Very similar to my experience,
I just find the treble boost very useful, properly because I am a treble lover
but I don't have the Super.fi and a car.
