    M6SL Firmware upgrade problem

    Hello guys,

I have a new Meizu M6SL and downloaded the 2004.6 firmware.
I copied the files (M6SL.ebn and resource.bin) to root and disconnected.

After starting the player the software upgrade began.
    "Software Upgrading please wait...".
After ~20 sec the display is darkened/black and if you look carefully at a side angle you still see the upgrade please wait message.

Noting happens... (for 30minutes) after a 20sec hold/reset the upgrade software please wait will start again!

The player start with upgrading, and cannot connect it to the PC (DFU tool).

    Any Help??
    Thx

It seems like you've managed to run into a mean little updating problem. You should read the FAQ about using DFU tool and try to start the player that way.
A hard reset should also wipe your M6's ROM clean, deleting the firmware file, making it not updating.

    solved

I have managed to clear the memory.
The M6 SL does not have a power button, so the hard-reset a combination (power + >>) explained on the forum does not work for the M6SL. This worked for me:

After rebooting (hold enter for 20 sec) "loading..." message will appear before the software upgrade begins. Somewhere during that time I have managed to format the memory by holding the ">>" button for about 8 seconds.

After clearing the memory i had a chinese version, but with youtube i could set it to english again.

    Thx for the help!

You should have just turned it off and on again
After the screen darkened and you pushed the play/pause button it flashed right? This is normal...at least this is exactly what happens when I upgrade the firmware.

It looked like the software upgrade could not complete. After 30 minutes it was still not finished and showed the same message "software upgrading please wait..." if you look carefull.

So I reset the player and start it up than the software upgrade started again,...

After a reset while seeing "loading" message on the screen I held ">>" button and a formatting procedure started, before the software upgrade could start again. That removed the files from disk and a factory (chinese) version was on the player again.
