crystal case or silicone?

i have a 4gb black miniplayer. which one would be better for it? aesthetic wise. i dont want it to be bulky.

The Meizu brand silicone cases are recommended.

The Cristal case makes the player look a bit strange plus since it ads an extra layer of plastic to the screen that also reflects a lot of light viewing the screen becomes less convenient.
Besides that the silicone cover protects against impact better and gives you a better grip on your player

Do you know when it`ll be in stock again? what color should i choose that would look good with a black meizu?

with black a black silicone cover looks best in my opinion.
Other colors might look odd with the dark black player under it

transparent, if available, would be cool too i guess

they dont sell the white transparent one. its out of stock.. -.- i wish they have a black/grey transparent silicone case.

i hate silicone cases. they attract so much dirt. id preffer a clear thin plastic case

each cover has its pros and cons... silicone might be a bit more prone to dirt. Cristal cases are bulkier and scratch more easily and protect against shock impact less well..

@slantedeyz: depending on your location you could try a different seller maybe?

i live in California. i dont mind the dirt. as long as its not too bulky. i don't like the solid black silicone look. im looking for something transparent

I have both - plastic for the times I'm on the road and I know it would otherwise get scratched, silicone (blue) for every day. It does look a little weird (doesn't resemble the Meizu anymore) but it works well.

FYI: The Crystal cases do not have anything covering the screen or controls.

I have both & have used both, silicone and crystal case.

The crystal case is a sandwich of plastic, with a separate plastic part in an opening in order to use the on/off button. This small plastic piece, the size of the on/off switch, can be lost if the case opens. It can be lost because it's loose and is held in place over the on/off button by the sandwiching of the player in the case.

Downsides to crystal case are: possible lost on/off plastic part, and when you hold the sides player it creates pressure on the crystal case and the sandwiching of the two plastic pieces is compromised as the seam is on the sides. Like popping open a plastic Easter egg with your fingers along the seam.
Upsides to crystal case: The usual stronger plastic protection. It comes with a stand to prop the Meizu player up. Great for sitting back and enjoying a movie. Or avoiding any light glare.

The silicone is difficult to use the touch control because it has a silicon cover over it. However, I have heard that the control cover can be cut out with an X-Acto knife, or similar cutting item. I'm not a fan of a silicone texture cover over slick metal.

Yes it does add a layer to the screen... being the plastic of the crystal case itself
The silicone covers don't cover the screen, the plastic covers do..
The plastic of the Crystal case reflects a lot of light making it less suitable to view the screen.
Besides that... any color of Crystal case but the transparent one will change the color of the screen

See the strong reflection of light? that plus the fact that the player becomes more bulky and the doesn't get any extra grip makes me kind of dislike the crystal cases

i would want to get a silicone except for the fact that i might look wierd with a black meizu.

when is the next shipment of cases coming in?

Oh yeah, I was wrong. I responded at work & now I'm at home I see it does cover the screen. Well, the glare is not enough for me to notice or remember.

is the belt clip good at keeping the meizu on? i got running in the evening a lot.

about the beltclip... it will stay on i guess, the miniplayer doesnt weigh much and the clip is in place pretty tight. If you wantt o use it to go jogging or something silicone might protect against shock damage better while plastic will protect from water better...

It depends on what you like, I think both are good.
For me, I use silicone for my white M6.
But since your M6 is black, crystal case may be looks more beautiful.

i decided to go with silicone. bought one at houseofdap
22$ total -.-
but silicone is more durable and less prone to scratches then plastic so yeah.

What doesn't make sense is that I ordered my 8 gig from them and they sent me what looks like the generic case!

Anyone else got the same thing?
