Nope, just loaded a new movie file - it must had decided it was too bad to ever be viewed.
(Hell comes to Frogtown starring Rowdy Roddy Piper!)
Checked the film conversion had worked ok, then screen went blank - torned off and on did not work, hard reset (enter button for 10 secs) did not work.
Connect to USB and I can browse via the PC, but totally dead screen.
*sigh* must remember never to load any Roddy Piper crap again

Yup :-(
Now gonna try the other tried and tested methods:
1. leave it for a few hours, have several beers, then try again
2. hit it with a hammer (I am joking about this one!)

Isn't there yet another method of resetting it? I think it was hold down the FF button and then press the play/pause button for a couple of seconds?
(I think all data will be erased, so be sure to back up anything of importance.)

format player
yeah...
try holding the FF side of the touch trip while turning on player...
make sure you KEEP PRESSED the FF button(that might take about 15 seconds) untill you get a green/yellowish screen and the players tells you its formatting.
after formatting your data will be lost but your player will be functional again
I had to do it multiple times cause the player wont take OGG files for some reason...(no...I am not using old firmware...) and it worked like a charm for me
