Hi
Maybe you know the problem: You want to go joggin and listen to music at the same time. So where to place your device? Hold it in hand - awkward, neck strap - boounces and disturbes, pocket - cable starts annoyin ....
Due to these reasons nd quite bad experineces in the past I was thinkin bout gettin the crystal case. With the armband it should work fine for joggin.
BUT, does this thing hold? I mean it would be kinda unfortunate if on my first run with this geniusses work itd just fall down break or just get a scratch ...
Did anyone try the crystal already while doing sports or how do you solve the problem?

I'm also thinking about getting one, but I heard that the clip to keep it on your belt sucks.
Any opinions?Last edited by puffel; 01-25-2007 at 12:40 PM.

The case is good for having it in your pocket, but for using the lanyard or anything else, the crystal case makes it too heavy.
I simply use the crystal case, earphone/clipon with long cord in my pocket and that works just fine.
You could also try the M6 by itself with a lanyard and a earphone with shortcord. But yes for exercising this will bounce around a little unless you put it in your shirt pocket.Current Rigs:
8GB iAudio 7 > Not in use
4GB + 32GB iAudio D2 > Alessandro MS-Pro
Sony MZ-NH1 > Headroom Total Bithead > Grado Labs PS-1
2GB Meizu M6 T1 > Not in use
8GB iPod Touch 2G > Shure SE530

I use my Meizu with no or a silicone cover at the gym
My headphones came with a very long wire so I can put the player in my pocket or i put it on the machine dashboard
If you don't want to use a Christal case with clip why not try a silicone case with armband? It uses no clips and protects your player against impact.
and it doesnt cost much either

At the moment I'm developing a Carbon-Fibre casing for the M6. Because I use the M6 while I'm working I can't continously think about my M6 of getting it damaged. I think the main disadvantage of sillicon is that it is able to bend. I have the first proto made of special carbon-fibre and it is very thin (only an extra 2mm total thickness). Inside I put some thin leather to prevent scratching.
Main disadvantage may be that there's no window or opening. So while playing you can't see or operate your M6.
Definite pro's: It's protected against impact, bending, dropping (in most cases) and it's very light. The M6 is still small.
Things to be done:- provide an opening to press REW and FWD
- Better surface quality (better looks)
- Integrate a belt clip.
Let me know if there are anymore ideas to be included in further designs.

Is it for personal use or are you planning to (mass)produce it?
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

At first it won't be mass production. At least not until I've further developed the project.
After that, It maybe can be individually ordered. I don't know yet. The production proces is pretty long (since I do it myself
).
If people like it I can try to make a case of solid and very rigid/stiff plastic. This is usually easier to produce.
I also don't know about rights for production of Meizu-items. I assume I have to need approval of Meizu to create such things.
Creating a see-through window would make it noticable bigger because you need to glue a polycarbonate plastic in it. It would at least add another 1 or 2 mm.
Even then. . . the case is meant to be for usage when you are working in the garden for example. Or helping someone to move out/in. Fill in yourself. At least you don;t need the screen that much. If you use it with Shuffle-play enabled at least the next-button needs to be available.
But.........
I can try of course. If it works out I'll let you know. But it is going to be difficult.
Another cool thing is the story of the materials... The pictures I posted came from a Gulfstream production line. Next one will be from Apache AH-64. (higher quality of Carbon Fibre)
This is also the reason that mass-production is going to be a problem :D
FYI: Next version will contain 5 layers of carbon fibre, belt clip and a smaller hole at the back side.
If people are interested I can work it out (also customized). No promises however !!
