HI
I'm seriously considering buying an M6 SL or an M3 meizu and have a few questions first.
FIRST!!! I've not heard of meizu. I'm from the USA and all I here about are ipods, zunes, or "the rest" what is the reliability like? is it well made? does it work well? obviously there is some sort of Good in it because there is a whole forum of people dedicated to it. but I've never held one or seen one in person and I want some opinions from owners.
Also What is the m6 like when in the pocket? I usually keep it in a pant or coat pocket when walking around. does it scratch easy or does the screen break easily? would you recommend an M3 over an M6 for that reason? does it come with the hard plastic case like here? Meizu Me - Meizu Me Gallery - Meizu M6 in action and does the case cover the screen
I see a few HELP!!!!! posts on the forum but I know that forums are for help. so do a lot of people have problems with their meizu.
also anything else you want to throw out there for advice on owning or buying one would be great.
anybody have experience with "house of dap" dot com as a reseller?
thanks

m6 SL is newer and to some, better but i think you should buy the m6 SP 8Gb/4Gb. I wouldnt recommend the m3. Im from Jamaica and i own a m6 for about 6 months and it's the best. Also this forum is the best. Help is always here.

i'm kinda a new user too, but for one i can tell you that the sound quality of meizu is much better compared to ipods.. don't really know about zunes tho , i heard their either on par , or meizu loses out a little..

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI compared my M3 with a friend's Creative Zen Stone, and the Meizu lacks "life" in its sound. But I'm happy with it anyway.
I personally don't watch videos on such a small screen, so I'd recommend the M3 over the M6 anytime.

Thanked 1,049 Times in 391 PostsI think you should go for the SL, because of the sound quality, and slim design. Also it's touchpad is self-calibrated, so you don't have to do it manually (like with the SP and TP). The only down side is the screen because the SP's look better (colors are warmer), but if you have never seen one in person, you won't be disappointed with the SL

Very well said. I'd say get the SL, it's much better than any ipod, it's nice and slim and the brushed metal back scratches a lot harder than the mirror finish of the SP.
As for the screen, i had my SL for about two months and i never used a carrying case, just kept it in my pocket. I didn't remove the screen protector (not the one that has the plastic strip on the side, that's supposed to be removed, there's a second layer of foil below that), and it has zero scratches. Any dust or fingerprints that may gather on the foil can be easily wiped off without scratching it.
In terms of sound, the SL is better than the SP, and louder.
The bundled earphones are good but a pair of better ones wouldn't hurt. I have the Sony MDR-E818LP, they're dang cheap, but sound really good. Put some sponges on them and they won't fall out of your ears, and you'll be amazed on how much bass can they deliver, yet keeping the sound clear.
Put a nice theme on or make your own and you're good to go. I have yet to finish my Aurora theme to release it here, but the main stuff is there, and i gotta say it attracts a lot of looks. I've noticed a lot of people with ipods staring at my M6SL when i'm on the subway.

Thanked 1,049 Times in 391 PostsOne more thing to consider is the SL doesn't have the hissing issue which many users are complaining about.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIn my oppinion, the Meizu M6 is a very very good player especially for the price you've payed for it.
It does have a couple of bugs however, mostly being software problems. For example if you download random MP3 songs, it might play some back stutteringly (re-encoding fixes things tho).

I've done some tests and i think i found the reason behind the stuttering sound at the end of MP3 files, check this out.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHad my 8Gb SP since they came out. Never had a problem with updating firmware, stuttering, hissing or crashing. It's worked perfectly from the box. I have 500 wma songs, 100 or so photos, 23 short video clips, All four series of Coupling ( a UK comedy) which is 29 programs at 25min each (12 hours), and 8 full length films on it.
I'm about to buy another for the wife. Looked at the Iriver, Creative and Cowen 2.5inch screen players but couldn't justify double the price for the small amount of additional functions.
I'd well recommend Meizu.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIf your listening to music I would recomend the M6 but if you want to watch movies you should get an iPod Classic. M6=20fps...iPod Classic or Nano=30fps. The picture tears alot on the M6 but the iPod plays videos much smoother without tearing. The iPod classic is 80gb or 160gb so you can put all the $h!t you want on it. The only reason i have a meizu is because i couldn't afford the iPod Classic.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsStill, if you really want to watch video often you shouldn't be holding a 320x240 screen to begin with. Unless you (i know people who do) can stamp 160 gigs with music and "some" video. I'd try to find a widescreen player for watching video these days.
Cramping widescreen to a 4:3 is just too painful, cutting it down is impossible if you have subs.
So buy a touch instead of the classic for video :DZTE Blade

I've got lots of videos loaded on my M6. Mainly for when I'm really bored at work LOL! I've never had a problem with it. I'm thoroughly impressed with both the music and video aspects of it.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI have my meizu loaded with plenty of youtube videos to keep me entertained. They look pretty good but an ipod looks better. I would reccomend the touch because it has great video but it is very expensive. $400 for 16gb.
