Yahoo Music Unlimited To Go / DRM

I'm using my M6 with Yahoo Music Unlimited To Go (the subscription deal). It's working great, but I have to reconnect my player every 24 hours to update the DRM license or the subscription songs won't play.

Does anyone know if the DRM update period can be changed? Once a week isn't bad, but every 24 hours is a bummer.

    Thanks!

The M6 isn't a supported player by Yahoo -- which is why I asked here.

The DRM music plays fine; I just have to update the licenses once per day. It's not a huge deal.

what are the steps you are using to do this? i haven't been able to get mine to work with yahoo music ... which by the way is now Rhapsody (and was previously MusicMatch .... I really liked MusicMatch and don't like Yahoo, maybe I'll like Rhapsody after the update, middle of the year for subscribers to Yahoo).

skselby, how did they brainwash you to make you refresh your drm license once per day ? They actually made you pay for it ..

BobbyQ - Stealing music is too much work -- and don't get me started on the price of CDs. Plugging in my M6 once a day is pretty easy and the cost is reasonable relative to buying CDs. It's not a perfect system by any means but I do get tired of listening to the music I create after a while

optical - A couple tips to getting the Yahoo Music Subscription stuff to work. First you have to have the "To Go" version of the Yahoo Music subscription service. Then change the USB Mode to "MTP" on your M6 (under the settings menu). Once you are set to MTP USB Mode, start Yahoo Music and plug your M6 into the USB. The M6 will appear as miniPlayer under Portable Devices.

You'll need to plug your M6 into your PC/laptop for the licenses to refresh. They seem to expire after 24 hours. Also, use the same PC/laptop each time even if you run Yahoo Music on multiple PCs as the DRM seems to be tied to both the device and the PC.

...And just so you know, Yahoo! music is ceasing its subscription service anyway and being taken over by Rhapsody. So all this process is moot.

I've switched from Yahoo! Music to Rhapsody (by RealNetworks). Still works fine -- the M6 shows up as miniPlayer in Rhapsody and can be used from within the software. Licenses still expire in 24 hours, but since I'm on my computer every day it isn't a huge deal to plug my M6 in once a day.

I guess this process isn't moot, after all.

You should write a complaint. You shouldn't have to do this every day.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.
