Hello.
I've a Meizu SL, the same version than yours. Since a few months, when I turn it on or plug it on my PC, it only shows a white screen. It may be important (or not) to notice that the screen is broken on a few pixels (not the plastic screen but the LCD). However, the m6sl is recognized by the computer, I can't see the folder in the explorer but they are empty and if I donwload some files in them, they disappear on the next time I plug the player to the computer. I can't manage to do any of the manual format/reset procedure. No one of them work. Can't simply upgrade the firmware neither.
I tried to use your DFU tool following your proceedings.
everything went well untill step 6. Everything is OK before that: player plugged (with 'menu' & 'play' pressed together), installed correctly driver for Blues USB DFU Device. Copied "M6SL.ebn" and "resource.bin" to the DFU Tools folder. Also to be noticed that I'm on Win7 OS.
But I can't go further step 6 because DFU tool CAN NOT DOWNLOAD the files:
when I click on download (Image M6SL.ebn is correctly selected...), programm says:
"ERROR: Failed to get device status!"
Then I can't go further with performing a hard reset.
No green screen... Only this ####### white screen, again and again
Any idea ??
HELP ME PLEASE !! I love this player

Thanked 19 Times in 19 PostsWhat I know, you don't need to place the resource file into the DFU folder on the SL version.
Btw. Windows XP is most recommended for the DFU tools. You should maybe let Win 7 run the DFU tool in XP compatible mode.
You can do this from Properties by right click on the DFU icon, then go Properties and click on the tap for compatibly and set it to run like XP.
Not sure it make a different but try it!
Still I remember some members had earlier reported weird behaviors on Windows 7 (beta). If you have the option, try an XP machine instead if you still not getting any luck.
If you got Win 7 professional or above, alternate could be "XP mode" from Microsoft homepage.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThanx for the answer, The Torminator !!
Under Win7, running DFU Tools with XP (SP3) compatibility didn't resolve the problem. I haven't tried the "XP Mode". BUT, under 'Windows XP' on another computer, THE PROCESS WORKED !!
The problem was Windows 7 indeed.
I'm now able to load my MP3 Player and keep the files on it each time it boots. I can listen to the songs. BUT the process didn't resolve the WHITE SCREEN issue. Whenever it boots, even with a Hard Reset or Format, the screen remains WHITE. Nothing I can do with it
. Then I guess this white screen means a BROKEN LCD in my case.
Too bad: I can't browse files on the player, can't do anything else that "play" all the songs I have on the player
. But this is still a kind of revival for my M6SL Player to me.
Thanx a lot to Passero and The Torminator!
PS:
sorry for the bad English.
I'm French!

Thanked 19 Times in 19 Posts@ SEV: Searched on some old threads here and yes it could be possible your screen went bad in case you dropped your player etc., but one last thing I would try before send it back or so:
Copy a fresh resource file from the same firmware to the root of your player and then disconnect and restart your player. If the resources information on it are bad, maybe it's just that what causing this white screen in your case, I dunno.
Unless you might have to go search for a new player.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHi,
Please help! i followed all instructions EXACTLY and the screen looks exactly the same as the one you posted but when i click DOWNLOAD it comes up with an error message saying "ERROR: Failed to get device status!"
What can I do now?
The problem I'm having (that made me do this in the first place) was that my M6SL would not turn on (its brand new) and the computer wasnt recognising it, when plugged in it would show the charging screen but would not show on the computer as being connected, IYKWIM?

I also have the problem the player is dead.
Now i tried the DFU Tool, but now I have the same problem as lot of other users: no reaction on hard resest.
I tried other computer other windows: On my 64bit laptop in the status line of the tool is "done" after I've loaded. On my old computer with win xp the first time i loaded firmware version 6, there was the error "no reenumerating..." and after tryin other firmware versions there was "enumerating" in the status line.
But hard restet still does not work.
Please help

You have to use XP.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.
